Funny Valentine (ファニー・ヴァレンタイン, Fanī Varentain) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer.[2]
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
In the English versions of All-Star Battle R, Valentine's Stand, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, is localized as "Filthy acts, at a reasonable price". However, this title only appears in the character's Great Heat Attack and default match entrance quote. All other appearances of the Stand's name simply use its abbreviated title, D4C.[1]
As Valentine's voice actor since All-Star Battle, Yasuyuki Kase reprises his role in All-Star Battle R as well. As with the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Valentine were either added or re-recorded.
Funny Valentine has 900 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (いともたやすく行われるえげつない行為, Itomo Tayasuku Okonawareru Egetsunai Kōi).[a] During a fight, he can use several different attacks of his that were featured in Steel Ball Run.

The drawback of this ability, however, is that Valentine will drop all Corpse Parts and his Heart Heat Gauge will be disabled for the rest of entire match. The three stocks of Heart Heat are also immediately consumed upon attempting this skill regardless if Valentine succeeds or not, rendering it a heavy loss if he is interrupted.
If struck by Kosaku-Kira's GHA, Bites the Dust, after having used this skill successfully, Valentine's HHG will be restored once time has looped backward.

The performance of some skills will also be enhanced, and you defence will be fuurther enhanced at Holy Corpse level 2 or more. The effective duration of Stylish Evade will be extended during this time.
Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード, Gogogo Mōdo)
Activates when under 30% health
This mode is automatically activated once Valentine falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.

A special movement technique were Valentine throws a flag into the air, wrapping himself inside of it and disappearing, and reappearing from the flag as it floats around. If Valentine is knocked down with a non-Heart Heat Attack/Great Heat Attack, Valentine can enact this skill at the cost of one bar the Heart Heat Gauge.

A counter. Valentine and D4C openly present themselves to the opponent with a shrug. If the opponent's non-Throw/GHA connects, Valentine will slam them into the ground as he uses them as cover to disappear. He will return from the ground with two extra Valentines as the three proceed to beat the downed opponent. D4C finally throws the opponent into the air and in unison, all three Valentines uppercut and send them flying. The two extra Valentines then return to their dimensions.

Valentine pulls out a large flag and blankets it forward as he declares the attack something the opponent should be honored to receive. This attack is unblockable, and if the opponent is caught, they are draped over by the flag (an image reminiscent of a military funeral ceremony) and Valentine jumps under in pursuit shortly afterward. The two are pulled into a parallel dimension, interrupting the battle between alternate universe versions of themselves as the camera view is upside-down. Valentine poses with his welcoming doppelganger as the camera reorients itself, while the opponent is forcibly pulled into and slams into their counterpart, resulting in them violently disintegrating into a shower of Menger Sponges as per the rules of D4C.

A two-stock assist. Valentine jumps in and covers himself with an American flag, creating a new Valentine clone that fly towards the opponent with a leg out for a kick. Valentine then poses before jumping back and covering himself with an American flag, disappearing in it.

A one-stock assist. Valentine jumps in and summons D4C to punch downwards in the same way as his jumping heavy attack. He then poses before jumping back off-screen.
Outside of All-Star Battle Mode, Funny Valentine has unique interaction dialogue for both his match entrances and victories when facing certain characters.

Valentine's theme is All For Justice (全てが『正義』だ, Subete ga "Seigi" da), and can be unlocked in-game by landing the "Feast your eyes on my Ripple!" skill as Kars in All-Star Battle Mode's Kars vs Valentine Extra Battle.
Valentine's Theme
Its name is in reference to Valentine's last words before he has a shootout with Johnny Joestar and dies in Chapter 89 of Steel Ball Run, his last words being "My heart and actions are utterly pure…! Everything I do is for justice!"
The 23rd president of the United States, and the main antagonist of Part 7: Steel Ball Run. He successfully defeats Dio, Hot Pants, and Gyro before Johnny Joestar's complete Golden Spin overwhelms him, forcing him to surrender. He then tries to win Johnny's favor by appealing to his patriotism, but the jockey sees his true intentions and finishes him with a nail bullet.
The twenty-third President of the USA, who successfully defeats Dio, Hot Pants, and Gyro and company. However, Johnny's perfected nail bullets overwhelm him. He tries to use patriotism to win Johnny over, but fails and is killed.
Funny Valentine's Stand. Its unabbreviated name is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. It is able to move freely between parallel worlds and drag others with it. Those who end up in a parallel world are annihilated if they come into contact with their counterparts.
