This article lists possible references made in popular series and by popular artists to art or concepts defining to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Discussion of the legitimacy of these references can be found here.

References range in nature from tribute to plagiarism. Many are comic, while the "JoJo poses" in particular cross into greater cultural significance, with the greatest examples being those reproduced by a handful of popular Japanese performing artists.

Music

Fuki Commune

Fuki Commune is a Japanese singer, and lead vocalist for the J-Metal group, "Unlucky Morpheous",(former member of "LIGHT BRINGER"). Since childhood, Fuki has been a big fan of pop culture, including anime, manga, and most notably, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. In a 2014 Interview, she spoke with fellow Japanese singer and voice actresss, Aya Hirano, about her love for the series. Diamond is Unbreakable is her "most favorite" Part.^[1]

In 2015,^[2] "Unlucky Morpheus", released their 5th EP, "Vampir". The 4th track, "Phantom Blood", is very likely a reference to the arc of the same name. Not only is the track featured on an album with a very gothic and vampire aesthetic, but when translated to english, one of the lyrics reads "I grabbed the mask;The time is to come", likely referring to Dio Brando rejecting his humanity upon being consumed by the Stone Mask.

Hello! Project

The idol groups of Hello! Project, like Angerme, consists of a few JoJo fans. Their girls strike JoJo poses on their blog and sometimes mix JoJo references into their dance choreography.

HOTEI

Tomoyasu Hotei, known as HOTEI, is a Japanese musician who released the album GUITARHYTHM VI on May 29, 2019. In the music video for the song “Freedom In The Dark” from the album^[3], Harada Tadashi was the hair and make-up artist for it. In a twitter post by him, he confirms that Jolyne and Sandman are hidden within the video as the look for two of the models.^[4]

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

Fashion model and musical artist Kyary Pamyu Pamyu often uses JoJo poses in performances. During an interview she has also mentioned having felt like a Stand user and has named one of her dogs JoJo. In her music video for "PONPONPON", she can be seen doing several different poses referencing different anime throughout the video with the last featuring aforementioned pose.

RADIO FISH

J-pop group, RADIO FISH, featuring Atsuhiko Nakata and Shingo Fujimori of comedy duo Oriental Radio, performed their songs "PERFECT HUMAN" and "ULTRA TIGER" at the Halloween Music Festival 2016. The crew dressed up as characters from Parts 4-6 of JoJo with Fujimori as Narancia and Nakata as Yoshikage Kira.

Shoko Nakagawa

Otaku idol Shoko Nakagawa (a.k.a. Shokotan) is a dedicated fan of the manga series and is known to do JoJo poses during interviews and live performances on stage, including breaking her tailbone when doing a Narancia pose on stage during a concert.^[5] She often posts about her love of Jotaro Kujo and once interviewed Araki on a Japanese television show, which resulted in the creation of Love Note. She also did a live performance of Sono Chi no Sadame.

Starbomb

Luigi posing like Giorno

In the animated music video for the song "SMASH!," performed by American comedy supergroup Starbomb and animated by Studio Yotta, Luigi at some point does Dio's infamous "Wryyy" pose. Immediately after he is seen surrounded by Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, and Princess Zelda while mimicking Giorno Giovanna's famous "I have a dream!" pose.^[6] Joel C, the director of the music video, has confirmed the references were intentional in his blog.^[7]

Yuka Kashino

Yuka Kashino (a.k.a. Kashiyuka) from Japanese electropop group Perfume often talks about her love for JoJo in the media and has struck JoJo pose with other members during photo ops. In addition, the choreography inspired by JoJo poses appear in Perfume’s music video for their 2010 single "Natural ni Koishite".

Open Mike Eagle

American hip hop artist and comedian Open Mike Eagle released on October 16, 2020 the album Anime, Trauma and Divorce which has two songs referencing the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series. The first is "Bucciarati" and the second is "I'm a Joestar (Black Power Fantasy)". The song "I'm a Joestar" was also featured on Adult Swim's youtube channel with an official AMW with clips from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.

Open Mike Eagle discuss the link between the song and the series. "Bucciarati" deals with the themes of "into needing help, changing direction and doubling down on his art", while "I'm a Joestar" pays homage to the way the series regularly changes the settings and the characters, Open Mike Eagle citing how it allows him to better imagine himself in the world.^[8]

Anime/Manga

Africa Salaryman

Many references are played out in this short scene, most being homages to Stardust Crusaders. Upon meeting his date partner, Toucan screams "WRYYYYY", Dio Brando's popular cry. As he does so, the camera spins around showing him performing DIO's signature pose from Chapter 117. All while this occurs the katakana for "Menacing" floats around Toucan. Toucan suddenly stops time, and a Stand-like figure resembling The World is temporarily summoned. When Toucan stops time he points towards the viewer in a similar fashion to Dio in Chapter 253 when he first reveals his stand. Once time is stopped, Toucan performs Jotaro's iconic pose from Volume 14. Afterward, he exclaims "Yare yare daze", Jotaro's signature catchphrase. Finally, once time has resumed, Toucan's co-worker, Lizard, begins mimicking the sound of a phone ringing, similar to how Vinegar Doppio does in Vento Aureo

Ai-Mai-Mi

Summoning a Stand

In episode 4, while Mai is wondering if Mi had courage, she suddenly summons a Stand-like figure engraved with the kanji for that looks much like Magician's Red.

Air Gear

When Itsuki Minami gropes a naked Simca, Ringo Noyamano is so furious that a monstrous Star Platinum-shaped shadow appears behind her and Ikki replies "Star Platinum!!?". At one point Ikki even uses one of Jonathan's ability, the "Zoom Punch" from Part 1.

Aoharu X Machinegun

Hotaru Tachibana can be seen doing a JoJo-inspired pose and having her toy-gun depicted in the manner of a Stand behind her in episode 4.

Assassination Classroom

Chapter 176 displays various memories of the students hanging out/trying to kill their teacher Korosensei. In one of them, one student painted Korosensei being shot at by another student in the same manner as Tohth predicting Jotaro would be shot at by two bullets.

Yusei Matsui, the creator of Assassination Classroom, also joined Araki on a 2013 TV Special where he ate the latter's homemade spaghetti. As an avid fan of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Matsui drew an 8-page report on his experience with Araki and his cooking.

Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts

Several scenes pay homage to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. In one scene, Akihisa Yoshii is seen trying Mizuki Himeji's bento box, only to be dragged into the darkness by a bunch of hands. There is also a scene in episode 7 where an annoying man with Josuke Higashikata's hair and his girlfriend try to get married at the Kisaragi Grand Park. The scene features JoJo-inspired like frames and the character even does several poses from Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, and Killer Queen.

Bastard!!

In Chapter 26 of Bastard!!, the vampire Di-Amon uses a technique whereas he shoots rays out of his eyes, possibly referencing Dio Brando's "Space Ripper Stingy Eyes" technique.

Black Clover

In Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #32 2021 (July 12, 2021), Yuki Tabata, the author for Black Clover, wrote in his author comment for the week that his wife has been doing a really good impression of Guido Mista's Stand, Sex Pistols lately.^[9]

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo

In Chapter 23 of the sequel series, Shinsetsu Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, the character Gaoh is wearing a stone mask during a fight.

Buso Renkin

In chapter 8 (episode 4), Kazuki Muto draws a picture of missing school student Koushaku Chono to show to other classmates. This picture is humorously drawn in the art style of Hirohiko Araki, much to everyone's surprise. Later on in chapter 48 (episode 15), the Warrior Chief Captain Bravo quotes Avdol's line of "YES I AM!" upon being recognized by the other characters on the beach. In chapter 49 (episode 16), he also mimics Polnareff's "Bravo, oh bravo!" pose (while riding a surfboard).

Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis

Episode 16 of Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis has the characters imitate the poses of characters from JoJo. Kumi Okazaki is doing Josuke's pose, Luna Yumizuki does Jotaro's, Tokoha Anjou does Jonathan's, and Am Chouno does Rohan's.

A Certain Magical Index

In the first volume of the first chapter of the Toaru Majutsu no Index Light Novel, the narration references JoJo's Bizarre Adventure when it compared the atmosphere in Kamijou Touma's room after he destroyed Index's clothing as when a Stand user has used its attack on someone.

In New Testament Volume 5, a mysterious character by the name of Fräulein Kreutune is introduced. The illustrator, Haimura Kiyotaka, comments on how she reminds him of the Pillar Men from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

CLAMP

CLAMP have been fans of the JoJo series since before becoming well-known themselves. They have done several JoJo-based dōjinshi, the most notable of which is CLAMP in Wonderland 1994 Summer and features the heroes of Stardust Crusaders. The JoJo character they created in that doujinshi also appears at the end of their first CLAMP in Wonderland video, alongside their own series' characters.

Corpse Princess

In the ending credits, some of the characters recreate some fairly blatant JoJo poses, including Jonathan, Joseph, and Johnny's.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

Gotouge referencing JoJo

Koyoharu Gotouge, the manga artist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, is a fan of JoJo according to their first editor, Tatsuhiko Katayama. This is confirmed in a twitcasting Q&A session from School of Jump where Gotouge reveals the three series that influenced Demon Slayer were JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Naruto, and Bleach.^[10] Particular influences from JoJo include the breathing method being similar to the Ripple, and the motif of the immortal demon Muzan being reminiscent of Dio Brando.^[11]

In a specific article on Gotouge, they list JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as the manga they want to re-read the most.

There are several other homages to JoJo throughout the manga.

In Chapter 129, Inosuke charges through a window yelling "WRYYYYYY", which is the battle cry mainly used by Dio Brando but also a few other characters in JoJo.

In Chapter 160, Doma sticks his finger into his skull, just like DIO does after drinking Joseph's blood.

Demons in the series like Muzan are also capable of transferring blood through their fingers as Dio does.

DENKI-GAI

In the first episode, Director asks Umio what happened between him and Hiotan. Umio says "nothing" and then Director comes closer to Umio and licks his ear, saying that he has the "taste of a liar". This is a reference to the Giorno and Bruno's "taste of a liar" scene from Vento Aureo. In Episode 2, Director and Umio make JoJo poses (Director as Jonathan, Umio as Joseph). In Episode 7, Director makes a JoJo reference.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

In Chapter 102, Saiki accidentally posed in a way that is similar to a JoJo pose while saying Jotaro's infamous catchphrase "Yare Yare Daze.."
In Episode 3 of Season 1 (Short Episode 12), Uryoku Chouno traps Saiki Kusuo into a box to perform a magic trick which later involves flattening him under a road roller as a reference to Jotaro Kujo and DIO's battle.
In Episode 15 of Season 1 (Short Episode 75), Kaido who was leading the way to a restaurant (and having poor sense of direction) says (while performing a JoJo pose) that they (he, Saiki and Nendou) are being attacked with a new Stand Power.
In Episode 6 of Season 2 (Short Episode 150), when Teruhashi Kokomi's charms fail to work on Saiko Metori, he declaims his refusal akin to Rohan Kishibe's face during his battle against Highway Star.
In Episode 22 of Season 2 (Short Episode 229), Kaido and Nendou argue over which Weekly Shonen Jump character is the strongest. Nendo argues that it's either Luckyman or Arale whereas Kaido states that it has to be Giorno because Gold Experience Requiem can nullify any ability.

Dog & Scissors

Kazuhito Harumi, a high school boy who is obsessed with reading books is killed in the middle of a robbery and resurrected as a dachshund dog. While in his new form, Kazuhito is adopted by a man who owns a pet shop called Iggy (with a symbol of Iggy's face).

ETOTAMA

In episode 5 of Etotama, smoke covers the room due to the main character being sick with a unique virus. The smoke clears up and reveals the characters doing poses, a couple of which are from JoJo.

Excel Saga

Ropponmatsu2 is an android who appears in various episodes. In episode 16, it is found by Excel in a delivery box and shows the Joestar Birthmark.

Fairy Tail

Lamy, an enemy character from the dark guild Tartaros in Fairy Tail, is seen doing a JoJo pose in Part 5-Part 6 era art style in episode 238 and in the 20th opening.

Fire Force

Dam Dam Dam!

In chapter 120 of Fire Force, the character Ogun Montgomery unleashes a fury of punches while shouting "Dam Dam Dam". This is a reference to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure's famous stand rush cries. Additionally, in the anime adaption, this reference is pushed even further with Ogun shouting multiple Ora's in quick succession, in reference to Star Platinum's famous "Ora" stand rush.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma

In Chapter 71, during Megumi & Kurokiba food battle, they invoke their imaginary Stand's and enter a blazing fist battle. The character design of Megumi is similar to Spice Girl, while Kurokiba's Stand has a skin pattern similar to King Crimson.

Fate/school life: Himuro no Tenchi

In the comedy spin off of Fate/stay night, the character of Shinji Matou makes several appearances throughout. In many of these, Shinji pulls various poses, with exaggerated sound effects followed behind him. These poses are lifted from Josuke Higashikata, Jonathan Joestar and Giorno Giovanna.

Gantz

In the final chapter of Gantz a billboard appears depicting Yukako Yamagishi from the Yukako Yamagishi Dreams of Cinderella story arc. The sign was inspired by the real-life billboards used to promote the single "Breeeeze Girl" by the band Base Ball Bear, which could be seen in Japan.^[12]

GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There!

In chapter 22, Rory Mercury goes on a rampage against foreign special forces during the Hakone Incident. The Japanese Minister of Defense, an avid fan of anime, asks if she had "put on the stone mask and feeds on blood". This was omitted from the anime adaptation.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG

One of the Tachikomatic Days sketches during Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG shows that after getting outfitted with a new "Agent" equipment one of the Tachikoma gets an Araki-style appearance and an ability to summon a Stand-like Agent that has the ability to stop time, "Reset The World".

Gintama

One of the arcs has the protagonists entering a haunted inn that services spiritual beings called "stands" (which are actually just ghosts), so that they may attain the happiness necessary for them to reach the afterlife. The "stands" may possess the "stand user" to grant him special abilities, which parody the conventional Stand naming derived from musical themes. The anime equivalent of the arc has Gintoki Sakata defining a "stand" while Star Platinum appears as an example, donning Gintoki's trademark attire, and includes a reference to Araki Hirohiko as a "backward-aging fairy". The main antagonist of the arc, Oiwa, also uses Star Platinum's battle cry "ORAORAORA".

GJ Club

In episode 2 of GJ Club, Kyōya Shinomiya is reading Volume 14 of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. In episode 7, he turns into ORE-MAN and does several poses, a couple took from JoJo.

Gokujo

In both the anime and manga, the main character, Aya Akabane, is often seen doing JoJo-like poses when discussing things relating to beauty.

Golden Kamuy

Not a JoJo reference

In the Golden Kamuy Official Fanbook, when asked which writer influenced him the most, Satoru Noda answered Hirohiko Araki. However, in the same interview, he states that he doesn't intend to include JoJo parodies in Golden Kamuy.

In Chapter 145 of the manga, the main character Saichi Sugimoto rapidly releases a fast barrage of punches followed by after-images of himself. The page itself resembles panels from Chapter 46 and Chapter 69 of Stardust Crusaders, however, Noda notes that this was actually a reference to Fist of the North Star.^[13].

"Zettai Korosu Man"

The text at the beginning of Chapter 230 of the manga, , is likely a reference to Japan's colloquial name for Tusk Act 4.

Good Luck Girl!

is a comedy manga by Yoshiaki Sukeno. In 2012, an anime adaptation by Sunrise was produced and ran for a total of 13 episodes.

Manga

Chapter 9: After returning Keita Tsuwabuki's hankercheif, Ichiko makes a remark about feeling reinvigorated, comparing the feeling to wearing a new pair of panties on New Year's Day. This line is taken directly from Josuke Higashikata after the Highway Star story arc.
Chapter 21: While Nadeshiko Adenokouji is expressing her jealousy and rage with Ichiko and Ranamaru Rindou, the panel layout, art style, and dialogue is a parody of when Yoshihiro Kira threatens to kill Josuke and Jotaro if they attempt to pursue his son.
Chapter 24: The panel layout and art style from when the random girl attacks Bobby resembles that of Esidisi attacking Caesar after having taken control of Suzi Q's body in Battle Tendency. The random girl also makes a remark after being defeated, claiming that it felt as if she was possessed.
Chapter 40: A "Binbōgami Item" that turns a pumpkin into a horse carriage is a redrawing of one of the chariots used during the battle between Joseph and Wamuu.

Anime

Episode 1: While monologuing about her popularity and beauty, Ichiko Sakura imagines herself posing like Kars from the end of Chapter 104.
Episode 6: After returning Keita Tsuwabuki's hankercheif, Ichiko's outfit, hair, and art style change entirely, as she recreates the panel of Josuke feeling reinvigorated after the Highway Star story arc. As per the original panel, she also makes a remark about comparing her refreshed state to wearing a new pair of panties on New Year's Day.

Gugure Kokkuri-san

In episode 6, Inugami puts Kohina Ichimatsu's head in the mouth of a big spirit to change her face. Inugami is beaten by Kokkuri-san for his actions and Kohina does Risotto Nero's pose over Inugami's body.

Hacka Doll the Animation

In episode 5, Hacka Doll v.4 finds a guy on the streets reading a car magazine and tries to gift him a car. She briefly recreates DIO's Road Roller attack before throwing the car at him.^[14]

Haikyu!!

In episode 10 of Haikyu!! season 4, Ryunosuke Tanaka does the pose of Noriaki Kakyoin from Chapter 123.

Nyaruko: Crawling With Love!

As a gag-series, it features one of the highest amounts of references to JoJo.

Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin

In Chapter 6, the protagonist Boyle Samejima is invited to a coworker's house to prepare sweet potatoes. Once there, the coworker is greeted by a group of kids who caught a turtle and named it Polnareff.

Hayate the Combat Butler

In one episode Klaus Seishirou parodies the famous scene of Dio turned into a vampire by the Stone Mask, with the same SFX that arises on the screen. Yukiji Katsura also mimics the technique "Sunlight Yellow Overdrive", exclaiming "Violet Overdrive" as her battle cry while attacking him.^[17]

Hanebado!

In episode 9, when Connie Christensen calls the others to attention in the school tennis court from the second floor, main character Ayano Hanesaki, standing below Connie, signs to her that she "can see her panties" using the same unconventional signs ("pan-tsu-maru-mie") Polnareff makes during the High Priestess attack.^[18]

Hellsing

In an omake of the manga, one character states that "volume 6" can be read as "ro-kan" while another says that it sounds like "Kishibe Rohan". A picture of Rohan in the Hellsing-omake style is present as well. In an omake for the second volume of Drifters Kouta Hirano describes Hirohiko Araki as "an ex-Shinsengumi vice-commander mangaka who can stop time, is a magic boy and a BT, screams "Baru-baru-baru-baru!", has four testicles in the alternate universe and is under execution, under jailbreak".

Hozuki's Coolheadedness

At the end of episode 9, during the next episode preview, Hoozuki is heard using the battle cry "Ora Ora" (very distinctly an impersonation of OVA Star Platinum) while he punches Enma Daio; this is followed by a reference to Fist of the North Star.

Hungry Marie

In chapter 10 of Hungry Marie, Taiga (appearing as Marie) repeatedly says "Nope" ("Muri", which is basically "Muda"). Anna tells him to settle down because he's starting to look like a JoJo's character.

Hyakko

Hyperdimension Neptunia

Lastation no Security wa Sekai Ichi!

In episode 6, Neptune makes fun of Noire who was convinced that her security system is unbreakable. She does it by paraphrasing Stroheim's famous quote accompanied with on-screen SFX.^[19]

I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying

Episode 2 of Second Thread features the iconic "To Be Continued" arrow before the ending theme plays.

Inari Kon Kon

In episode 6, Toka Fushimi begins to type If I don't rescue Irina from the sinister Deo's clutches seemingly referring to Erina and Dio. Coincidentally, Touka has the same voice actor as Robert E. O. Speedwagon (Yōji Ueda) in the Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency anime adaptation.

Humanity Has Declined

Episode 4 shows the character Y doing Jonathan's Volume 4 pose, the katakana for "Menacing" can also be seen.^[20] Coincidentally, Y's voice actress, Miyuki Sawashiro, also voiced Jolyne in All Star Battle and Eyes of Heaven.

Ryuko's "secret technique": Running away!

In Chapter 1 (manga), upon realizing that she can't defeat the Boxing Team Captain, Takaharu Fukuroda, Ryūko Matoi uses her "trump card", which is "Running Away!", surprising all present characters. She even runs in the same manner as Joseph Joestar when he runs away from Straizo and Kars.

Kiss Him, Not Me

In episode 3, main protagonist Kae punches at the camera repeatedly while scream "muri" several times, just like DIO's "muda", and ends by doing Dio's "WRYYY" pose. In the second eyecatch of the episode 8, the Serinuma family are doing several JoJo poses: the protagonist Kae is doing Joseph's pose, her mother Mitsuko is doing Jonathan's pose and her older brother Takuro is doing Josuke's pose

Chapter 257 of Komi Can't Communicate ends with "To Be Communicated" in an arrow, mimicking JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's iconic "To Be Continued".

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? of the Dead

In episode 3 of this anime, Ayumu Aikawa performs a dance to hip-hop-like music. The lyrics of this song are a clear reference to Jonathan's most famous attack.^[21]

The last words are a reference to Bruford's conversion from a zombie via the Sunlight Yellow Overdrive barrage. Ayumu ends the dance with Dio's pose.

Koro Sensei Quest

In episode 5 when Ritsu turns the class into stone, the students are seen doing multiple different poses in which on of them is referencing Wamuu's pose from Chapter 64.

Lucky ☆ Star

The show has several JoJo references. In particular, one appears when Hiyori Tamura trips and falls to the ground in a dramatic manner. Her art style changes to that of JoJo and the similar SFX appear around her as well.

Macademi Wasshoi!

In episode 4, in order to fight Baltia's black giant, Eitaro Sakuma exclaims that he will fight her. Meanwhile, he makes a pose similar to Risotto Nero. When ordering his assistant Eineus to launch a giant robot sized Eineus, he makes Jonathan's trademark hand over face pose.

Maji de Otaku na English! Ribbon-chan: Eigo de Tatakau Mahou Shoujo

In episode 7, all the main characters are gathered in a park "ready to defeat" the main antagonist. There, the main antagonist, Valko, is admitting her defeat but suddenly random side characters pop up. Valko reacts to this like it was ripped straight out of some kind of battle shonen series, with her hand striking a JoJo-esque pose, her hair resembling weirdly Polnareff from Stardust Crusaders, and background effects showing and trembling.

Mayoi Neko Overrun!

During a game of Jenga, Chise Umenomori summons a Stand similar to Star Platinum to help her pull a brick out. There is another scene that is in the manga only, where the Stray Cat's Club is at the beach, and they appear to be making a sand sculpture of Iggy's stand, The Fool.

Medaka Box

In Chapter 116 of Medaka Box, Najimi Ajimu gives a speech to Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, listing out the qualities of various protagonists of other Shonen Jump series. Jotaro Kujo is among those referenced, who Najimi states is cool. In the end, she asks Zenkichi if he wants to be a main character like them.

Meganebu!

Towards the end of episode 2, Yukiya Minabe finishes his pair of glasses and begins executing both Joseph and Jotaro's poses. In episode 6, all of the Meganebu members perform famous poses on a train, like a challenge or game.

Mob Psycho 100

One character, Tenga Onigawara, is a reference to Josuke Higashikata from Diamond is Unbreakable, as he has a similar pompadour hairstyle and a special attack where he rapidly punches, not unlike Crazy Diamond's Stand rush. At one point in the manga, the end of chapter illustrations show traits of the Body Improvement Club as a parody of Stand stats. Lastly, in one episode of the anime, Ritsu Kageyama strikes the same pose as Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli while trying to activate his psychic powers.

Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls

In Chapter 5 (episode 3 of the anime adaptation), Centorea Shianus explains that as a centaur, her species is known for being valiant knights who honor loyalty above all. She mentions that her various ancestors also served under similar values with visions of them appearing in the background. At this point, Kimihito Kurusu asks if their images behind her are Stands.^[22]

Negima! Magister Negi Magi

During a fight in the school tournament (Chapter 102), the protagonist, Negi Springfield, is pitted against his student, Takane D. Goodman, who is capable of summoning a shadow being. Images of the tournament end up online with one of the comments exclaiming that "It's a Stand User!", making a pun due to the huge resemblance to ordinary evocation mode of Stands.

No Game No Life

In episode 2, Stephanie Dola makes a fuss of her emotions towards Sora, and amid frustration, she shouts "WRYYYYYYYY!!" while striking a pose, directly referencing DIO in Part 3.
In episode 3, Sora says Rohan Kishibe's quote "But I refuse!" (だが断る, Daga kotowaru), and then, he and Shiro pose like Rohan does, refusing Clammy Zell's proposal, similarly to Rohan rejecting Highway Star's proposal.
In Episode 8, upon seeing the Eastern Federation's ambassador, Izuna Hatsuse, Sora and Shiro shouts King Crimson!!, skipping time and warping themselves to Izuna'side, referencing Diavolo's Stand and his ability, and there, Sora references Cioccolata's petting of Secco after he did a trick with a huge text bubble full of よし.

In episode 3, Kamatori Kei wears a ridiculous swimsuit causing some characters to react much like Dio's friends when witnessing Dio kiss Erina. In the same episode, a scene change occurs referencing a scene from Steel Ball Run. In Episode 5, when Kaoru (Rose) Hanazono finds Ringo, he cites Noriaki Kakyoin's "Saa, oshioki (Rose says oyatsu) no jikanda yo, baby" quote, in English that will be "Now, it's time for punishment (Rose says snacks instead), baby". Also, Kousaku says Jonathan's famous "Furueru zo haato! Moetsukiru hodo hiito!" quote when he almost kisses Kaoru. There's a kiss scene similar to the Dio and Erina kiss between Kousaku and Kaoru where Kaoru says the same quote about Erina (Kousaku)'s first kiss; and Kousaku says the same phrase when Dio was being beaten by Jonathan, imitating Dio's crying scene. Also, Rose cites a couple times the catchphrase of Muhammad Avdol from Part 3 (YES, I AM!), and he loves prime numbers (like Enrico Pucci in Part 6). One of the main characters, Masuzu Natsukawa, often brings up JoJo throughout the show. Natsukawa's "boyfiend" also happens to be a fan of JoJo, and whenever Masuzu's temperament gets too unpredictable, he even has the habit of using JoJo related topics to change the subject and brighten the mood.

Ms. Vampire Who Lives in My Neighborhood

In attempt to scare off Akari so she can be left to her quiet life, Sophie (a vampire) lifts a road roller above her head to show off her strength, in reference to the final fight with Dio Brando and Jotaro Kujo. This is also a reference to Jonathan Joestar's line "I can even lift this rock" and possibly Yoshikage Kira wanting a quiet life.

Owarimonogatari

In episode 7, Koyomi Araragi asks Suruga Kanbaru to resemble a samurai armor, suggesting he put it together while she gives him instructions. Araragi accepts and gives a speech while posing similarly to Rohan Kishibe's in-game render from All Star Battle. Interestingly, Hiroshi Kamiya, the voice actor of Araragi, also voices Rohan in All Star Battle and Eyes of Heaven.

Pokémon

In the 860th episode of the Pokémon anime series, Team Rocket's Meowth does Dio's "WRYYY" Pose, Jonathan's Volume 4 pose and Jotaro's Volume 13 pose while mimicking Dio's battle cry, saying "Muda-nya Muda-nya Muda-nya".^[24]

Pop Team Epic

Pop Team Epic Episode 12 Made in Heaven reference

Pop Team Epic is a manga that chronicles the shenanigans of Popuko and Pipimi. In the twelfth episode of the anime adaptation, both of the characters Popuko and Pipimi shout "Made in Heaven!" in reference to Enrico Pucci's Stand.

Similarly, in the tenth episode, a sound effect to The Hand's erasing ability is briefly heard during Pipimi's cooking show.^[25]

According to his character profile in the PSYCHO-PASS Official Profiling guidebook, Shusei Kagari's favorite manga is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure because "he wishes he had a special power like a Stand or Ripple." The profile also lists his favorite thing in his room as a "Premium JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Figure".

In Episode 1, Nabeshin fights with Alien #1 who summons a Stand-like figure incredibly similar to Star Platinum's 1993 OVA iteration. Nabeshin makes a comment him reffering to his ability as "Stand-ish".

Rosario + Vampire

The series has a number of blatant references to JoJo. One chapter appears to have been inspired by the Tower of Gray arc as the main cast travels to Hong Kong, but is intercepted along the way by an assassin and then survive the plane crash.

Run with the Wind

In episode 10, Iwakura mentions the phrase, "But, I refuse!", inquiring Akane to ask if Iwakura meant to make a reference to the same line by Rohan Kishibe. When Iwakaru makes it clear he has no clue what Akane's talking about, the lineart in Akane's face shifts to resemble Rohan's as he questions how his friend doesn't know about the infamous line.

Heihachi Edajima, the headmaster of Otokojuku, is shown reading Battle Tendency in Weekly Shonen Jump several times throughout the series. First in episode 5, and then later in episode 10.

Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei

In Episode 4 of Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, the characters find some "ultimate weapon" buried beneath them, which turns out to be an Ultraman stone mask. Throughout the series one of the characters, Usui, is constantly trying to get attention due to being unnoticeable. In one episode where everyone's character is the opposite of what it normally is, he is very noticeable and appears in the JoJo art style while imitating familiar poses.

Student Councils Discretion

Sugisaki Ken, the main character, claims that all boys have a Stand called Illusion which enables them to fantasize about girls even when blindfolded. After that he makes one of Joseph's poses.

In 6th episode Kotori imagines what would happen if the girls of 765 Pro were to open a tamatebako from Urashima Tarō myth. Her fantasies are shown as JoJo-stylized manga pages.

A Certain Scientific Railgun

In the series, there is a restaurant located within Academy City, called Joseph's Coffee and Restaurant, notable for being often frequented by Misaka Mikoto and her friends. The name of the restaurant references the actual restaurant in Japan, Jonathan's Coffee and Restaurant, though in this case, they replaced "Jonathan" with "Joseph".
There is also a petshop featured in School District 7 and is named Horus Pet house, a direct reference to the part 3 antagonist of the same name and his stand. In the manga, the pet shop's logo features two animals, both of which seem to depict Pet Shop and Iggy, though this reference is lost in the anime.

In chapter 74, a precognitive esper named Shaei is introduced with the ability to use a camera to produce a photo of a future event. He describes an app that people use to find lost objects, using an example of an esper girl destroying a camera with a karate chop, referencing to Joseph Joestar's usage of Hermit Purple's abilities.

To Love Ru Darkness

In the 44.5th chapter of the series, Rito Yuuki is seen holding a bag of various bizarre items. The logo on the bag reads: Stardust Store - JOJO HAND, featuring pictures of the Lucky Land Communications logo. In Chapter 53, the character Yami is seen in the library reading a book whose cover features Oingo and Boingo in Tohth's artstyle. Part of Oingo's name can be seen on the spine and a picture of Iggy is shown on the back cover.

In the series, there is a character named Yuu Momokino who attends Mochizuki High School along with the Arashi Mikami. She works as a waitress at the Joestar's Caffee & Restaurant, a reference to Jonathan's namesake.

UQ Holder

UQ Holder reference to JoJo

In chapter 105, while time is frozen, Touta Konoe mimics The World during the flashback where DIO first tests it's ability. The scene even includes Tōta with his arms inside gears, recreating the interlocking wheels of time image. Two panels later Tōta says "and this is more than just five seconds!" referring to how long time has been frozen.

In episode 6, Summer! The Beach! I Want to Test My Courage!, Ami and Itsuhito are seen spying on Shinichi and Hana, hoping to catch them with each other. Itsuhito makes a remark about how "Next time he'll get them for sure!" with Ami responding that she would bet Kakyoin's soul on his failure. This line is in reference to when Jotaro wages Kakyoin's soul in Chapter 215. In the manga, there's a reference found in chapter 64. Where one of Uzaki's siblings poses like Kars from the end of Chapter 104. Even including members of his vampire army.

When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace

In Episode 5, Tomoyo Kanzaki recreates an iconic pose of Kakyoin while playing as a "Chuuni" character. In Episode 8, Hajime Kiryū talks about Jurai Andō's group, which he called Virgin Child, imagining them in JoJo poses (Andō poses as Jonathan, Tomoyo as Jotaro, Hatoko as Josuke, Chifuyu as Giorno and Sayumi as Killer Queen).

Wise Man's Grandchild

In Episode 5, some of the male side characters are shown doing some of the more well-known poses. From left to right: Mark Bean poses similarly to Jotaro's Volume 13 pose, Julius von Littenheim poses similarly to Jonathan's Volume 4 pose, Tony Freyd does Josuke's Volume 36 pose, and Thor von Flegel does Killer Queen's iconic pose from Chapter 362.

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

In Episode 8 of the anime, the female protagonist, Narumi Momose, is talking with Naoya Nifuji, the younger brother of the male gamer protagonist, Hirotaka Nifuji. She notes that unlike Hirotaka, Naoya is similar but not as introverted or interested in video games. Narumi thinks about Hirotaka and it shows him playing a video game and saying he's like Tusk ACT4, or more specifically Tusk's colloquial name, Absolute Murder Man (絶対殺すマン, Zettai Korosu Man).

In Episode 9, Narumi and Hirotaka go on a date at an amusement park. Hirotaka sets up a rule where they have to pay a fine every time they reference anything nerdy, prompting Narumi to complain about the rule while also reenacting Esidisi's crying scene (and then paying a fine for doing so).

Pierrot's Stand Cry

In chapter 72, Pierrot shows his hate towards Microwave Bread, and while doing so, He throws a Barrage of Punches at a microwave while screaming his own name like a Stand Cry.

On one of the OMAKE 4-Koma comedy serie of Yakitate! Japan, you can see the mangaka commeting how long his manga has been running and that his Art Style changed so much over the years and that Art Style is none other than Jojo's.

Yandere Kanojo

In Chapter 11, they advertise a Drama CD for the series released on May 26, 2010. One of the panels notes that the character Reina is voiced by Ai Matayoshi and shows her shouting lines from Jotaro and DIO.

Yo-kai Watch

In episode 13, Keita becomes possessed by the dancing seaweed Yo-Kai Wakame-kun, Konbu-san, and Mekabu-chan during a physical education class on dancing. Throughout the day he is seen doing dance poses, Josuke's being one of them.

In episode 87, a yokai named Otonabull appears and possesses people, causing them to act like adults. At some point he meets Manjimutt and tries to become his apprentice. After he accepts, they decide to go on a bizarre adventure.

In episode 7 of the sequel series Yo-kai Watch Shadowside. The protagonists are reading a story of a mans encounter with a Yo-Kai named Kaosake-Onna, recreated in a goofy art style very similar to that of the stand Tohth.

You're Being Summoned, Azazel

Volume 7 of the manga features the Stone Mask as one of the exhibits in the Legendary Treasure Museum. In episode 3, Salamander Kiritake was introducing himself with JoJo-styled SFX effects in the background.

Yu-Gi-Oh!

The January 2003 issue of English Shonen Jump features an interview with series creator, Kazuki Takahashi where he lists Akira, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Dragon Ball as his favorite manga series. In a later 2015 Shonen Jump interview, he names Araki in particular as an artist that inspired him. Within the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Art artbook, on the subject of the duality between light and dark, Takahashi explains that he was greatly inspired by the "darkness" within the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.^[26]

Takahashi was also a notable contributor to the 25 Years With JoJo anniversary booklet, having drawn a picture of Josuke from JoJolion and Crazy Diamond. Within it, he mentions Part 4 to be favorite part and is looking forward to Part 8 due to the similar setting.

Zatch Bell!

In the extra chapter of volume 25 of Zatch Bell!, a parody of the Tonio chapters was done in 3 pages by Mamodo (Demon) Raiku. In those pages, he reenacts the scene between Tonio and Okuyasu by feeding himself a Mozzarella and Tomato Salad while dressed in their attire.

Video Games

AI: The Somnium Files

In the 6th Chapter of the game, When you examine a mask in the Boss's office the boss will make a comment on how spikes will come out of the mask if you put it on. When the mask is examined again in the 18th or final chapter of the game Iris will make a comment that she wants to wear the mask and Date will reply that if she wears it and get her blood on it she'll become a vampire. Both of these are references to the Stone Mask from Phantom Blood.

In PSYNCIN' IN THE SWaiN, while Ota is about to be attacked in the warehouse, Ota thinks "I eventually stopped thinking" in his head. This is a reference to the line "Kars eventually stopped thinking" from Battle Tendency.

Azur Lane

Activating auto battles in sorties will show a prompt which features the To Be Continued arrow.

Bayonetta

The Little Devils

Of the many Infernal Demons that can be summoned by Bayonetta during a Climax Attack, the Little Devils are an obscure reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, more specifically Guido Mista's Sex Pistols. Director Hideki Kamiya has mentioned during a commentary that, much like Sex Pistols, each of the five devils have their own personality, and have a number written on their foreheads, with the #4 (or the #2 in the case of the little devils) missing as it may be considered very unlucky by Zero, the King of the Little Devils.^[27]^[28]

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

In the Castlevania-inspired indie game, main protagonist Miriam can obtain an equippable accessory named the "Stone Mask", with its description reading "A stone mask once used by a tribal chief during ritual sacrifices."

She can also obtain the "Hyperventilator" which looks like Joseph's training mask from Part 2, with its description "A mask designed to push the wearer to his or her physical limit." The "Voice changer" item is a color swap of the Hyperventilator.

The "Gambler's Ring" item has a description which reads "A ring that bestows both luck and pluck to would-be gamblers."

Late into the game, the player can be challenged by NPC Orlok Dracule, or O.D., to a secret boss fight. Upon his defeat, he gives Miriam a shard with the powerful ability "Standstill" that allows her to stop time. While the spell itself is inspired by the Stopwatch sub-weapon from the Castlevania series, the audiovisual presentation is distinctly different and in clear reference to The World; The visual effect of Standstill's activation resembles The World's time stop from the OVA, while the sound effect replicates that of the time stop from the Stardust Crusaders anime.^[29]

Capcom Fighting Evolution

If Demitri uses his Midnight Bliss attack on Rose, she'll turn into a gondolier with a Venetian mask. This is a reference to Lisa Lisa from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which was the basis for Rose's design. There's also a rare chance that she'll turn into Enya the Hag. In Street Fighter V, her "Nostalgia" alternate costume is the same gondolier outfit.

Castlevania series

Stone Mask from Curse of Darkness

A Stone Mask can be found in the library in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which is where Jonathan and Dio studied the properties of the Stone Mask. It appears again in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, with an appearance much more akin to the one's found in JoJo.

In Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, if the Sacred Fist sub-weapon is used without a Spell Book activated, the protagonist shouts "Ora ora ora!" and unleashes a flurry of extremely fast, blur-like punches (in reference to Star Platinum).

In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, a soul called "Guardian Cagnazzo" can be obtained that makes a Cagnazzo demon appear behind the protagonist and punch wildly whilst shouting "Ora ora ora!" also in another reference to Star Platinum.

In Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, one of the boss characters, Zephyr, utilizes time stopping abilities in conjunction with knives (much like DIO). Zephyr even shouts "Toki wo tomare" (Time has stopped). His fight on top of Cursed Clock Tower is another reference to Stardust Crusaders of the manga.

Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness

The character Santana is likely a reference to mostly part 3, but also includes some part 2 elements. Appearance-wise, he strongly resembles Muhammad Avdol, with his official artwork mimicking Avdol's 'YES I AM!' pose. His voice actor is also Kiyoyuki Yanada, who voiced Jotaro in the Capcom fighting game. Aside from this, his name is also possibly a reference to the pillar man, Santana.

I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator

Van Van, a side character featured in I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator, a dating simulator published by KFC, has a design inspired^[30] by the style of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The character likely takes direct inspiration from the masculine body proportions of Jonathan Joestar and hairstyle of Josuke Higashikata.

Cyberpunk 2077

In the game's photo mode, a selectable pose titled "V's Bizzare Pose" recreates Jonathan Joestar's signature pose from Volume 4.

In the trailer for the photo mode feature, one the poses resembles Dio Brando's walk towards Jotaro Kujo.

Danganronpa series

The Danganronpa series features many references, scattered all across its three main games.

In Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc:

During his initial introduction, the protagonist, Makoto Naegi, points out that he does not have a Stand.
The Japanese delinquent Mondo Oowada is a homage to Josuke Higashikata, sharing Josuke's hairstyle and is easily offended when people make fun of it. He is also the leader of a motorcycle gang named the Crazy Diamonds.
The first execution of the game, The 1000 Blows, has Leon Kuwata being hit 1000 times with baseballs, similar to how Jolyne Cujoh defeats Miraschon.
During the optional bath peek on the 3rd day, one of the students, Hifumi Yamada, offers Makoto to count prime numbers to calm himself down.
The villain of the game, Junko Enoshima, has multiple personalities, with one of them constantly acting as Dio and saying "Muda, Muda, Muda" during her Machinegun Talk Battle, and making the JoJo pose.
One of the items the player can gift is called the Meteorite Arrowhead, a blatant reference to the Arrow.

In Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (also known as Super Danganronpa 2):

The character Teruteru Hanamura mentioning that people can tell if others are lying by the taste of their sweat.
During an argument between the two, Monokuma attacks Monomi with a Heaven's Door parody, and in another occasion attacks her with a flurry of punches while screaming "ORA ORA ORA!!!" and throwing her into a trashcan.
Coach Nekomaru seems to be a homage to Jotaro Kujo, with elongated, strong cheekbones (stylized as black, thin lines running from his eyes) and an open, black school uniform adorned with oversized chains.
During her first fight against Coach Nekomaru, Akane Owari screams "MUDADADADADA", a mixture of Crazy Diamond's and both The World and Gold Experience's battle cries.
While discussing the fictional videogame "Twilight Syndrome's Murder Mystery", Ibuki Mioda states that "TWILIGHT SYNDROME'S SECRET HIDDEN PASSAGEWAYS ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!" The sentence, alongside the mannerisms of speech and dialect she adopts for this sentence and this sentence only, are a probable a reference to Rudol von Stroheim and his infamous quote, "GERMAN TECHNOLOGY IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD!"

In Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony:

Tsumugi Shirogane states that "thinking logically in these situations is of no use", and that she has decided to "eventually stop thinking altogether", mentioning Kars' final fate.
Gonta Gokuhara states that a thing he heard gentlemen do is "go on adventures to find stone masks".
It is revealed that Ryoma Hoshi had a promising career as a tennis player until he singlehandedly killed an entire mafia squad and was sentenced to the death row, only to be freed by the Ultimate Academy, in exchange to become one of its members. This may be a reference to Guido Mista's backstory.

Dark Souls

Armor of Thorns

According to the interview between Dark Souls' Director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, and Concept Artist, Daisuke Satake, found in Design Works artbook, the design of the Set of Thorns originated from the concept of the trial of the 77 Rings. In the challenge, combatants must defeat each other and wear the metal rings from each foe, increasing the weight they bear as they continue. The team's original idea was to use this design and try adding spikes to the rings, though it deviated along the way.

Just before the Iron Golem boss, you can summon a white phantom named Black Iron Tarkus, which is likely a reference to Tarkus, as they share many similarities. They are both large powerful warriors who carry unwieldy weapons and thick armor, who both fall off a cliff in a similar fashion.

In Dark Souls II, you can encounter a boss called Executioner's Chariot. During the original network test prior to the games release, this boss instead had the name Silver Chariot, referencing the Stand of the same name from Part 3.

In Dark Souls III, a boss called High Lord Wolnir can be fought in the Catacombs of Carthus. He bears a striking resemblance to Enya Geil's Stand Justice. He is a colossal skeleton wearing a crown, and even uses fog to attack and harm the players.

Dead Cells

The flavor text for the Hayabusa Gauntlets reads "UselessUselessUselessUselessUselessUsel..." in reference to DIO's and Giorno's stand cry. The Hayabusa Gauntlets themselves attack by rapidly barraging the enemy with punches.

Deltarune

In chapter 2 of Deltarune, A Cyber's World, The character "Queen" references several attributes of the stand of Yoshikage Kira, Killer Queen, with her battle theme being called "Attack of the Killer Queen", as well as having several objects she touches explode, similarly to the stand's ability.

Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya is a notable fan of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.^[31] In a twitter post by him, he implies one of the enemies' mask design for The Nobodies is based on the Stone Mask.^[32]

An otaku in Akihabara does the iconic poses of Jonathan Joestar and Josuke Higashikata.

Dota 2

The Hero "Faceless Void" does one of DIO's poses while using his ultimate ability "Chronosphere", which stops time. He also has a green heart for a belt buckle.
One of the loading screens features the character Phantom Assassin doing Jonathan's pose, not only that, but the previews in the Steam Workshop of the whole set (Bloodroot Guard) features various JoJo poses (Giorno, Jotaro, Caesar and DIO)

The female Thief's character design and name (Moriah, if selected her default name) was possibly based on Mariah.

The achievements "Abyssal Crusader" and "Hilichurl Champion" used to be named "Stardust Crusader" and "Gold Experience Requiem"; they have been renamed in Version 1.1.

In Mirai Mall, an item named "Roadroller" can be purchased on floor 2. The item is described as "It's yellow and flattens stuff. MUDA MUDA MUDA! WRYYYYY!", clearly referencing the attack DIO uses on Jotaro during the final battle of Stardust Crusaders.

The Henry Stickmin Collection

Choosing "Diversion" in the Triple Threat route will play a cutscene where Henry and Ellie manage to distract a room full of Toppat Clan members by dancing. During this, three TC members can be seen doing the Torture Dance performed by Narancia Ghirga, Guido Mista and Pannacotta Fugo from Vento Aureo.

Choosing "Spirit Mode" in the Revenged route will play a cutscene in which Henry and the Right Hand Man battle with Stand-like entities named "Spirits". Henry's Spirit is named "Reference" with the Stand Cry "Failure! Failure! Failure!" a possible reference to DIO's Stand Cry "Useless! Useless! Useless!". The Right Hand Man's Spirit is named "Time in a Bottle", a reference to the Jim Croce song of the same name, and is localized to "Bottled Time" in the subtitles, referencing localization of musical references in JoJo. The cutscene ends as a typical episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure would, with the endcard arrow instead reading "Mission Failed".

In the endcard of the Cleaned 'em Out route, the Stone Mask can be seen on the wall behind Henry as an item that he steals from the Toppat Clan.

The fail message displayed when attempting to bribe Mr. Macbeth in the Little Nest Egg route reads, "Henry really bribes? No dignity." referencing a quote from the "Duwang" translation of Diamond is Unbreakable, where Josuke Higashikata secretly attempts to dissuade Yukako Yamagishi from falling in love with Koichi Hirose.

In the Special BROvert Ops route, one of the members of the Toppat Clan, Ken Janpon, is a reference to Ken Oyanagi, as both are seen with a hole in their cheek and play rock, paper, scissors. In his bio it is also stated that "People feel weaker after losing to him." referencing Ken's stand Boy II Man.

Hiveswap

Tegiri's Jojo inspired portrait in Hiveswap: Friendsim

In Volume 10 of Hiveswap's visual novel spinoff, Hiveswap Friendship Simulator, hovering your mouse over Tegiri Kalbur's portrait on the character selection screen will change it to a portrait rendering him in a style that mimics Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. This is placed among numerous other references to anime and manga found in his character.

Hyperdimension Neptunia

In Re;birth1, when the heroes discuss Noire's status as a loner, Neptune says her Stand power tells her Noire has no friends. MAGES.'s victory screen has her pose like Caesar's iconic pose. Rom and Ram have special attacks that open with them posing similar to Caesar. In Megadimension Neptunia VII, Neptune quotes Polnareff's speech from when he was exposed to DIO's The World. In Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls, Neptune references the smoke trick Jotaro used to expose the Impostor Captain Tennille.

Kaiser Knuckle series

One of the boss characters, Azteca, wears a face mask that is very similar to the Stone Mask. Also of note, his character select portrait shows that he has "DIOS" (Spanish for God) tattooed on his arm, which is reminiscent of "DIO", and his pre-fight animation consists of him bursting out of a stone pillar. His pose in the character select screen may be based on Kars' after becoming the Ultimate Life Form.

"It Was Me!"

The champion spotlight video for Sett makes two references to the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series. When showcasing Sett's ability to rapidly throw several punches, the announcer shouts "Muda muda muda!". At the end of the video, the scene where Dio Brando and Jotaro Kujo dramatically walk toward each other is also recreated.

Sett also has an emote in-game which references to Dio's "It was me!" pose.

The character Blond Youth resembles Young Dio in many ways (clothes, haircolor) and the author even cites in his profile: "Called Dio by some" implying a tribute to Dio in some way.

Marvel Contest Of Champions

As a special arena on October 29, 2020 to get the exclusive character "Platinumpool". The banner art is a reference to "Jotaro and DIO prepare for their final battle" panel in Chapter 256 and the title "Platinum is Unbreakable" is a callback to Part 4 Diamond is Unbreakable

Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter

Omega Red's ending in the crossover game Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter shows him having defeated/killed Ryu, with Ken Masters deeply distressed and exalted questioning him shouting "how many lives have you ended?", to which Omega Red only responds grinning "do you count the number of breaths you've taken?".^[33]

Mega Man X

The design of Spike Rosered, also known as Axle the Red, from Mega Man X5 is heavily based on that of Noriaki Kakyoin.^[34]^[35]

Mercenary Kings

In the game there is a magnum-class pistol listed as "Horse", designed similarly to The Emperor, and complete with the description: "Perfect Pistol for a mercenary on a bizarre adventure."

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

The "Stand Mask"

In 2015, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate held an in-event in which you could unlock the "Crazy D" hammer that heals your allies as you attack. Along with a mask based off Harvest called the "Stand Mask" that can be equipped to your Shakalaka to constantly gain money.

When the items were localized outside of japan, they were re-skinned and renamed. The "Crazy D" hammer was renamed to the "Majestic Hammer" and had it's design changed completely. The "Stand Mask" only recieved a name change to the "Cosmetic Mask".

Moonlighter

After progressing through the game's third dungeon and getting certain materials for Andrei's Vulcan forge, the option to craft "Star Platinum Gloves" become available. The gloves seem to bare a heavy resemblance to Star Platinum's from the Part 4 anime.

Mr. Massagy

For one of the profile picture options, the player character, Johnny, poses in a similar fashion to Jonathan's famous pose.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series

During Shikamaru Nara's Shadow Imitation Technique Jutsu, characters are forced to perform Jonathan's famous pose with a matching SFX in the background. Similarly, during Asuma Sarutobi's Flying Swallow Jutsu, Asuma strikes his opponents while shouting "ORA ORA ORA!", after which he finishes with "Yare yare daze", in reference to Jotaro Kujo's iconic lines.^[36]

NekoPara

After Chocola and Vanilla had lost consciousness by playing with catnip, their Master took them to the bed. After Vanilla woke up she wonders why it's so late and suspects a Stand user attack. After Chocola, Vanilla and Coconut burn their tongues on hot coffee, they suck on ice cubes and make Kakyoin's "Rero rero rero rero~" sound.

Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge

The character Donovan Baine has the ability to summon different spirits during his several attacks. The Vampire Series Official Complete Works artbook includes a conceptual sketch, made by Kanameshi and Takenori Kimoto for the game Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, wich showed Donovan summoning Moody Blues instead (p.110), referencing the Stand-like qualities of some of his summons.

In the same page of said artbook there is also another (but instead earlier) sketch of Donovan where he appears posing very similar to DIO in Part 3.

No Straight Roads

A To Be Continued arrow similar to the one used in the anime can be seen at the end of the first two boss fights against DK West.

Retdex's pose in the promotional art is a reference to the Torture Dance in Part 5.

Paladins

In the Paladins game, an unlockable spray in the Nightfall Event Pass called "Arrogant Vampire" recreates the iconic pose of Dio Brando when he says "It was I, Dio!". It features the character Corvus and his "Count Corvus" skin which shares similar traits with Dio.

Persona series

In Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, an animated cutscene in the game introduces the Persona 4 cast posing as different JoJo characters: Narukami as Jonathan, Yosuke as Dio, Chie as Jotaro, Yukiko as Josuke, Naoto as Giorno and Kanji as Joseph.

Similarly, in Persona 5, The World is one of the responses to the question "What is the name of the phenomenon where the second hand looks like it stops moving?", asked by one of the teachers in school.

Psychic Force series

Richard Wong is a Psychiccer with the power to control time. He naturally compliments this ability by swarming the enemy with summoned daggers (usually after immobilizing them with a large sword) and uses teleportation as a highly evasive maneuver and as a means to swarm the opponent with more attacks.

Resident Evil series

Hideki Kamiya admitted that he was inspired to name a character "Joseph Frost" after Joseph Joestar.^[37] The name "JoJo" is also written on a locker in Resident Evil 2.^[38]

Rosenkreuzstillette

Sichte demonstrates knife-throwing technique after a time stop.

Sichte Meister is a homage to DIO. Like DIO, Sichte uses knives to attack and has the ability to manipulate time. She also shouts "Toki wo tomare!!" while freezing time and placing knives that zeros-in on the player in Rosenkreuzstilette.

In the sequel Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~, she crushes the character with a giant block similar to how DIO dropped a steamroller on Jotaro.
Sichte also shares resemblance of Kakyoin Noriaki's signature Emerald Splash attack, referenced by her emerald-shooting. Her stage Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~ is a clock tower, refers to where Kakyoin dies.

School Idol Project

In the Love Live rhythm action game, a recruitable character Fumie Nishimura can be seen holding a book (on the level 1 version of her card). The character on the cover of her book seems to closely resemble the younger Joseph with Caesar's triangle-patterned bandana tied around his head. The coloured spheres in the background appear to symbolize the bubbles that Caesar is capable of generating with his ability.

Senran Kagura series

Senran Kagura 2 Deep Crimson, Mirai has an outfit called "Camisole" with 4 different colors to it. 2 colors have the words "Star Platinum" surrounding a star in the middle of the camisole while the other 2 colors have "The World" surrounding a globe.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey

The Cursed Sarai is a weapon in the game which is described as "The Sword of Anubis that drives its victims mad". It is likely a reference to Serai, the blacksmith who made the sword Anubis possesses. There is also an enemy-only ability is called Bites The Dust, which is likely a reference to the ability of the same name. It inflicts the Bomb status on a target and said target will explode and die instantly next time it is attacked.

Skullgirls

Two playable characters from Skullgirls, Valentine and Peacock, are a homage to Dio Brando/DIO. Valentine can stop time and throw knives similar to DIO,^[39] and Peacock can drop a steamroller on her opponents^[40] though it is very rare.

Another character, Big Band, which was later added as DLC, shouts in similar fashion to Star Platinum during one of his Blockbuster attacks, though Big Band shouts "Tuba Tuba Tuba" instead.^[41]
Another DLC character, Eliza, has a color palette inspired by DIO's color scheme. In the patch notes for the release, the developers referenced one of Dio's more familiar quotes.

In the visual novel, the group built a device called "Is it, ORAORAORA?!" which is a very basic lie detector; so basic that in reality it can only read people's sweat levels. They also like using Rohan's "I refuse" quote, which eventually outed someone as an otaku.

Lead designer of Street Fighter II, Akira Nishitani, stated in a interview with Polygon that the concept of Dhalsim's ability to stretch his limbs comes from the Ripple "Zoom Punch" technique.^[42] This is reconfirmed in the comment section of Dhalism's bio in the Street Fighter X Tekken Artworks artbook.

In an interview with producer Noritaka Funamizu, he reveals that Guile's overall appearance was modeled after Jean Pierre Polnareff.^[43] Guile's page in Street Fighter X Tekken Artworks goes into detail, explaining that early designs included Polnareff's vertical, yet modest hairstyle, but at the time the sprites were being made for Street Fighter II, the pixel artist jokingly stretched Guile's hair out to the sides. The team found it amusing and decided to give him "the always distinctive Stroheim look" instead. Noritaka also explains that Guile's name was derived from Polnareff's archenemy, J. Geil, though this was apparently the result of a mix up from the development staff at the time.

During early stages of development of Street Fighter II, Guile's "Sonic Boom" attack was originally referred to as "Divine Sandstorm", in reference to the character Wamuu.^[44]

Rose was inspired by Lisa Lisa, her outfit is almost identical to Lisa Lisa's and both share a similar fighting style that consists of channeling energy into their scarves (Soul Power in the case of Rose and Ripple in the case of Lisa Lisa). Additionally, both characters like to take baths and Rose's stage in Street Fighter Alpha 2 is Venice, which is the same city where Joseph meets Lisa Lisa in the story. Furthermore, in Capcom Fighting Evolution, the Midnight Bliss attack would turn her into either a masked gondolier or Enya the Hag with a tweaked sprite from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future

Juri Han has hair and clothes similar to Jolyne's. In addition, Juri has a spider motif and cleaves a butterfly in her official artwork; Jolyne has a butterfly motif and her Stand turns her body into threads and webs + she has spiderweb-patterned clothes. Juri even has the same "ora ora ora" battle cry as Jolyne.

In Street Fighter V, the DLC character Seth has many moves based on older Capcom fighting games including JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future. His Hecatoncheires move is based on Jotaro and DIO's Blazing Fists, with the EX version of the attack ending with Jotaro's Star Breaker as Seth yells "ora ora ora". Some successful combos can lead to Seth doing DIO's Time Stop pose.

Suikoden series

In the first Suikoden game the emperor Barbarossa Rugner gives a sword named Pluck (mistranslated as "Prakk" in the English version) to one of his generals, Teo McDohl.

Team Fortress 2

Several user-submitted in-game items pay homage to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The "Starboard Crusader" and "Tsar Platinum" cosmetic items are Jotaro Kujo's hat and jacket, while the War Paint "Skull Study" has designs based on Yoshikage Kira.

Tekken series

In his interview with EDGE magazine, Katsuhiro Harada, director of the Tekken series, admits that Paul Phoenix's hairstyle and first name are based on Jean Pierre Polnareff's. Masamichi Abe, now at Nintendo but back then a member of the Tekken planning team, was a fan.^[45]

Kazuya Mishima's combat gloves, strongly resemble Star Platinum's. In Tekken 3, Jin Kazama has the same combat gloves as both of them, but longer.

Kazuya's Devil form in the original Tekken game bore a strong resemblance to Star Platinum, down to the purple skin, hairstyle, clothing and the aforementioned gloves.

In Tekken 7, Claudio Serafino poses similarly to DIO in one of his moves, and as a customization item labeled as the "Ancient Mask" which is clearly modeled after the Stone Mask.

Terraria

In Terraria, there is a weapon called "Vampire Knives" which are likely to be a reference to Dio Brando; Specifically, to Shadow Dio's knife throw from the arcade fighter of the same name, whose knives fan out in a manner similar to this weapon.

The game also features an armor set called the "Stardust armor" that allows the player to summon a spiritual guardian when all the pieces are worn. The guardian will float directly behind the player, and the player can order the guardian to move and attack enemies. The animation for the guardian's attack bears a strong resemblance to the infamous beatdown of Steely Dan. The changelog for the Journey's End update also states that "all resemblance to a certain anime is purely coincidental."

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion

In Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, there is a cherry NPC named "Kakyoin", which is a direct reference to Noriaki Kakyoin. The NPC has Kakyoin's face and his only dialogue is "rero rero", referencing the famous cherry scene. During his idle sprite, the iconic rumbling (ゴ / Go) sound effects appear floating above him.

The Battle Cats

Deliquent Cat in Action

Within the popular tower-defense mobile game, there is a Super Rare Cat unit referred to as "Delinquent Cat". Unlocked by playing the Cat Capsule; Delinquient Cat's appearance resembles that of a banchō and it's main form of attack involves pointing in a manner akin to Jotaro Kujo and summoning a creature similar to Star Platinum to bombard the enemy with flying fists.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The appearances of the "Pompadour Baby" and the "Crazy Ghost Baby" co-op Babies from the Afterbirth † expansion are directly based on Josuke Higashikata and Crazy Diamond.

The King of Fighters series

Benimaru Nikaido's appearance was loosely based on Polnareff, right down to his outfit in The King of Fighters '94 and The King of Fighters '95. Even after Benimaru's name was decided, the game developers continued to refer to him as Polnareff.^[46] Additionally, his taunt in The King of Fighters XI mirrors Polnareff's stature from the manga.

Also from King of Fighters, Rugal Bernstein, the main villain of the first two games, wears an outfit which is clearly a toned-down version of DIO's final Stardust Crusaders get-up, with a black tank top, loose pants, and even belt loops which come down past his hips. Rugal does omit the headband, kneepads, and other elements of DIO's outfit which bore the heart insignia, however, as well as having more ordinary shoes.
Leona's "Earring Bomb 2: Heart Attack sees her attaching a bomb to her opponent. Afterwards, she may either wait until it explodes on its own or detonate it with a secondary command, saying 負けて終わり ("Makete owari." ~ "You lose, it's over."), referencing Bites The Dust (transcribed in Japanese as , 負けて死ね, "Makete shine." = "You lose, now die.").
Leona Heidern's Grateful Dead is a (Super) Desperation Move during which she drains the opponent of his/her life force while surrounded by wisps of steam or smoke.
Mian's Rangurenbu is a (Super) Desperation Move which she performs a series of attacks ending with a fire breath from her Bian Lian mask. While performing such a series of attacks, she utters "Ariariariariariariari", but due to her being Chinese, she doesn't say "Arrivederci" at the end.
Shun'ei's Demolish Dimension is a Climax Desperation Move where he summons manifestations of his inner fire and ice monsters and punch his opponent repeatedly while uttering "Dorararararararara!"

Touhou Project

In the sixth game of the Touhou Project "The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil", the final boss Remilia Scarlet quotes Dio's famous bread phrase in Marisa's Scenario.

In the eleventh game Subterranean Animism, Yuugi, an oni, fights Marisa "without spilling a drop of sake" (stated by Patchouli).

Two of Kaguya Houraisan's Spellcards have references to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the first one being Divine Treasure "Salamander Shield", which has in its comments a blatant reference to Esidisi. And the other one being New Impossible Request "Red Stone of Aja" referencing the valious stone in Battle Tendency, the Red Stone of Aja.

Sakuya Izayoi is a maid who is the servant of the vampires Remilia and Flandre Scarlet. It's generally assumed that she's a tribute to DIO, as she employs the same style of combat (stopping time and using throwing knives) and even has attacks named after DIO's Stand power: Illusion World "The World" and Sakuya's World. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has been referenced several times in the official games.

In Double Dealing Character, one of Sakuya's Spell Cards erases the time (respectively the present and future) of the surrounding bullets and thus erases the bullets. This might be a reference to Diavolo's Stand and implies that Sakuya might not be only a reference to Dio. In the seventh game Perfect Cherry Blossom, once Marisa defeats Ran (a shikigami), she asks her if she is a Long-distance Type, because her master is far away and she is quite strong. This is a clearly reference to the Stand Types in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

In Symposium of Post-mysticism, an official Touhou Fanbook, Toyosatomimi no Miko says that Koishi Komeiji "stopped thinking", using the phrasing of the famous line After a while, he stopped thinking (そのうち、考えるのをやめた。, Sono Uchi Kangaeru no wo Yameta) referencing Kars.

Undertale

The Mad Dummy's repeated shout of "Futile" is similar to DIO's "Muda" which translates to "Futile/Useless". The Mad Dummy also throws a knife which is a part of DIO's arsenal. Mettaton's dancing resembles JoJo poses and he has heart-shaped bracelets which are similar to DIO's. Also, his concept art might be a Shadow Dio's pose reference.

World Heroes series

Dio/Neo Dio is based on Dio Brando and Araki's earlier work Baoh the Visitor. Neo Dio's visual design is based on the protagonist of the manga, Baoh, while the dialogue in World Heroes Perfect is a reference to Dio Brando, such as the famous "Muda Muda!" and "Wryyy!" (in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, his dialogue is more like Santana's). Dio's dialogue from World Heroes is also a reference to Dio Brando's lines. He also takes inspiration from Kars as he can form blades from his arms in certain moves, as well as how said moves are named "Sonic Saber" and "Grand Saber" reminiscent of Kars' "Bright Saber" title.

World of Warcraft

One of the achievements in the Antorus, The Burning Throne raid in World of Warcraft is called Stardust Crusaders.

Yakuza series

In Yakuza 0, one of Goro Majima's boss fights is against a character named Jo Amon. After defeating him, Majima remarks what that "Jo" guy's problem was and how overall the experience was a "bizarre adventure".

Yandere Simulator

In a December 2016 build of the game, an easter egg known as "Bad Romance Mode" was added. This mode activates after collecting 8 stationary objects scattered throughout the school and pressing Ctrl on the rooftop. Upon activation, Yandere-chan gains the stand "Bad Romance" (likely a reference to the 2009 hit: "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga) while an original song plays in the background, having a similar sound to the intro of BLOODY STREAM.

While the stand is activated, Yandere-chan also gains a new idle animation where she strikes Jonathan Joestar's signature pose from Volume 4. When the stand goes in to attack, Yandere-chan poses similarly to Jotaro.

Amphibia

In Toadcatcher, the second segment of the fourth episode of Amphibia Season 2, General Yunan poses multiple times when introducing and boasting about herself to people throughout the episode. While boasting about herself yet again as she confronts Captain Grime and Sasha Waybright, she briefly poses in reference to Josuke Higashikata and Jonathan Joestar’s iconic poses.

Arby's Restaurant

The American Fast food Restaurant Arby's have numerous social media platforms where they create Cardboard art or use sauce packets to creatively design characters from Video Games or Manga as social media marketing advertisements, some JoJo characters have had this happen to them such as: Dio Brando,^[47] Gyro Zeppeli,^[48] Bread with lighter from the Black Sabbath arc,^[49] Johnny Joestar,^[50] Daniel J. D'Arby^[51](from an AMA) & Will A. Zeppeli^[52]

Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog

An Off-Panel from issue #270

The 270th issue of the Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series, features an Off Panel comic strip in the back of the issue portraying Sonic and Knuckles as Kenshiro of Fist of the North Star and Jotaro respectively. The theme of the strip refers to the manliest of anime and concludes with Knuckles and Sonic engaging while shouting "OraOraOra" and "MudaMudaMuda".

Ballmastrz: 9009

Chimpendale striking Jonathans pose

The ninth episode of the first season of Adult Swim's Ballmastrz: 9009 has one of the rivaling teams members striking one of Jonathan Joestar's iconic poses.

In the 8th episode of the second season, one of the team members has a hairstyle closely resembling Josuke's from Diamond is Unbreakable. There are also characters resembling Bruno Bucciarati and Giorno Giovanna from Golden Wind.

In the same episode, one of the teams does a dance mimicking the torture dance shown in Golden Wind Episode 7.

Castlevania (TV series)

Tunis shopkeeper's mask

In The Reparation of My Heart, the second episode of Castlevania Season 3, a shopkeeper in Tunis specializing in mystical objects Isaac speaks to can be seen cleaning or polishing a mask that looks similar to the Stone Mask. Notably, the mask is green with red and gold decor and lacks fangs.

In the final scene of the animated film Hayop Ka! (also titled internationally as Hayop Ka! (You Son of a Bitch!), Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story, and You Animal!), the characters Nimfa Dimaano and Jerry go to a stew kiosk to eat together. At the barber shop behind them, posters of Giorno Giovanna and Josuke Higashikata, depicted as dogs, are seen on the windows.

Heroes

In the NBC drama Heroes, the character Hiro Nakamura is a fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. In his blog, he states that he wants to "be like JoJo and Vaan and go on adventures" and that Part 3 is his favorite, especially the fights against the D'Arby brothers. One of his powers includes time manipulation, a gift shared with both Jotaro and DIO. In his blog he also mentions Joseph, Suzi Q and Boingo, whom he compares with Isaac Mendez. Isaac was an artist and comic book author whose works predicted the future just like Boingo's Thoth. Hiro later manages to stop time for more than 5 seconds and says that "JoJo was wrong" and posts on his blog under the pseudonym Jotaro Kujo. In the episode "Lizards", Hiro uses DIO & The World's battle cry "Muda Muda" during the Battle of Twelve Swords. He uses it again to taunt Daphne Millbrook while using his time manipulation ability to escape after taking her medal.

La Cascara

La Cascara is a comedy-sketch show based in Panama, and are known to make numerous reference to pop culture. In a highlight reel of a carnival challenge segment, the hosts parody Diamond is Unbreakable's 3rd Opening Great Days, recreating the poses of the Part 4 cast over an instrumental of the "Unit's" version of the opening. Also in an episode of La Cascara's internet series "Quiero Ser Influencer" ("I Want to Be an Influencer"), one of the skits featured uses tracks from the Golden Wind soundtrack. Namely, "spensierato-rabbia" and "spiritoso" from Overture and Intermezzo respectively.

Live with Yourself!

Babs stand

In the Ep.29 of online webtoon Live with Yourself! by Shen, Tomo discovers Babs can pull objects into his timeline by observing them which results to said objects into aging rapidly, such as growing a tree from a seed. And when Todd came back, Tomo strikes this pose with Babs as a Stand.

My Little Pony: A New Generation

The character, Sprout, takes light inspiration from the design of Dio Brando^[53]. The blonde haircut and heavy eyebrow expressions were referenced for the character and are heavily present in Sprout's model sheet. However, in the final design of the character, the front of his hair was cut for a more "slicked back" look.

Real-life figures striking poses vastly similar to those featured in the series

As noted by JoJo's Posing School, figure skater Mao Asada and real-life runner Usain Bolt may have influenced or have been influenced by poses featured in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.^[54]

Neostygarctus lovedeluxe

A species of tardigrade (water bear) discovered by Japanese scientists, Shinta Fujimoto and Katsumi Miyazaki, in 2013. The name is in reference to Love Deluxe as the scientists joked on how "it looked as if the Stand was controlling the creature's hair."^[55]^[56]

PAW Patrol

In MISSION PAW: Royally Spooked, the first segment of the seventh episode of PAW Patrol Season 4, the pups visit Barkingburg after the Earl suspected a "spooky" activity in the castle. While the Princess is unbothered by the ghosts, it is revealed that her pet dog, Sweetie, is the mastermind behind these activities by using her chew toy in an attempt to become the Queen of Barkingburg.

Chasing after several "haunted" knight armors, the PAW Patrol deduces that someone remotely controls these knights. Skye, the lookout dog, notices a device on the knights' helmet, to which Ryder, the Patrol's leader, quickly traces back to Sweetie. The knights briefly pose in reference to Killer Queen, Joseph Joestar & Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli, and Josuke Higashikata's iconic poses as Sweetie continues to spook them more.

Rick and Morty

Rick and Morty is a comic series published by Oni Press, based on the TV series. In Issue #22, released on January 25, 2017 with it being illustrated by CJ Cannon and colored by Katy Farina, Rick calls for reinforcements from The Citadel of Ricks and one of the Ricks depicted has his hair in the style of Josuke Higashikata's iconic pompadour and his jacket top is spread apart like Josuke's uniform as well. Rick also insults the officer's hairstyle like how various characters insulted Josuke's hair in Diamond is Unbreakable.

Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

In The Clothes Don't Make the Turtle, the second segment of the tenth episode of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 2, the brothers try on multiple clothes and take on fashion poses. At one point, Donatello does three poses reminiscent of the iconic poses of Jotaro Kujo, Giorno Giovanna, and Jonathan Joestar. The second being the more direct visual reference.

Rollton

A post from the Russian instant noodle company Rollton references the scene of DIO grabbing a road roller to use against Jotaro.

The post states "Твой обеденный станд — ЗА-ВАР-КА! Wryyyy*!" which translates to "Your dining Stand - BO-IL-ED!" (Note: Rather than "BO-IL-ED", it says "ZA-VAR-KA", which is a play on words referencing "Za Warudo").

The packaging on the image states "Reference Flavored Noodles".

RWBY

In Volume 7 of the animated web series RWBY, the design of the character Neon Katt was partly inspired by Jolyne Cujoh.^[57]

Sakurayama Shrine Demons

Every year on Setsubun the in Iwate Prefecture exposes statues of oni made of wood resembling characters from popular media, including characters from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.^[58]
