After 25 years JoJo's Bizarre Adventure received a faithful adaptation by David Production which continues to this very day. Like in every anime character designs were altered either to make them easier to animate, fix some problem with their original look or other.

Here's a list of design changes in JoJo Anime and OVA adaptations.

Dio Brando			While his eyes are red in anime, it was revealed Araki intented them to be green.

Dario Brando			'In memory of mother' tattoo is missing on his chest.

Scotland Yard Inspector			In the manga his beard is darker than his hair, while in the anime they're both light.

Jonathan Joestar			Star Birthmark has been added since it didn't exist until Stardust Crusaders.

Jonathan Joestar			Sleeves have been converted into shoulder pads.

Dire			Altered/Simplified outfit.

Tonpetty			Altered/Simplified outfit.

Dio Brando			Different outfit.

Aztec Chief		12	Added blue feathers on his Stone Mask and a sleeveless tunic. His wristbands were changed to wrist wraps.

Jonathan Joestar			Star Birthmark has been added since it didn't exist until Stardust Crusaders.

Mary Joestar			Added hat and removed necklace.

Dio Brando			Different outfit.

Smokey Brown			Metallic necklace was changed to a bowtie, but only for his appearance in New York.

Erina Joestar			Her glasses are no longer dark so her eyes can be seen.

Donovan			Anime gave him a cleft chin.

Santana			New tattoo on his left eyelid was added.

Joseph Joestar	12		Star Birthmark has been added since it didn't exist until Stardust Crusaders.

Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli		12	Headband has been made longer to keep the lenght the same as when Joseph wore it.

Mark			Iron Cross has been removed.

Lisa Lisa			Different clothing when killing Zombie Commander.

AnimeOVA

Holy Kujo			In the first episode of the Stardust Crusaders anime, her circular earrings were designed to be inherited from Lisa Lisa.

Strength			Drastically simplified design.

Devo the Cursed			Diffirent pattern on coat.

Justice			Stand now has two right hands, much like its user, Enya, and her son.

Oingo			His shirt is now stylized after Khnum instead of his name.

Boingo			His coat's sleeves are the same color as the torso, and he does not have shorts over his pants.

Anubis			Added armbands.

Mariah			Exposed belly.

Vanilla Ice	12	12	Added sleeves from his early appearance and removed his gloves.

Vanilla Ice (Vampire)			Sharper teeth after turning into a vampire.

DIO			Model sheet depicts DIO with a silver choker. It goes unused in anime.

Holy Kujo			Different dress when taken care by SPW.

Star Platinum	12	12	OVA keeps pants from his early appearance.

Magician's Red	12	12	Thick patches of feathers around its wrists instead of bracelets. The feathers on its head also sprout further down its neck and it has a shorter beak. His design is closer to his early appearance.

Enya the Hag			She now has an appearance of a young lady thanks to her Stand.

Geb			OVA portrays Geb with a mouth.

Vanilla Ice		12	Added wristbands & tattoo on his right shoulder.

Wilson Phillips			Senator is seen without his hat.

Holy Kujo			Different dress when taken care by SPW.

Shizuka Joestar			Sometimes seen wearing gloves.

Not Bug-Eaten			Longer horns with protuberance similar to other rat.

Shigekiyo Yangu	12		Although it's been illustrated as hair by Araki, anime potrays it as part of his head making him bald.

Kira's Coworker			Smooth pattern on tie.

Killer Queen			Added deep glow in eyes after obtaining Bites the Dust.

Giorno Giovanna	12		In the manga heart-shaped opening in the chest area has triangle-circle pattern, while anime made it a horseshoe-like opening with circles.

Luca			Less detailed coat.

Bruno Bucciarati			Lace top turned into tattoo.

Polpo	12		Large dark irises turned into black scleras and light irises.

Narancia Ghirga		12	More muscles.

Sex Pistols	12		They have now 5 fingers instead of 4.

Purple Haze			Waistcloth's pattern has been changed to single color.

Beach Boy			'BEACH BOY' written on top is omitted.

The Grateful Dead	12	12	Fingers are now more claw-like.

Risotto Nero			Large dark irises turned into black scleras and light irises.

Ghiaccio			Leather gloves were changed to part of his suit.

Carne			A pattern on headband similar to Bucciarati's suit has been changed to three tears.

Spice Girl			Irises appear all the time.

Diavolo			In the manga black stripes on Diavolo's arms are depicted as clothing, whereas in the anime are tattoos.

Stone Free			Added breast to match its modern depiction while keeping muscular shape from the manga.

Emporio Alnino	12		Chicago Cubs emblems have been changed to Green Dolphin Street Prison emblems original to anime.

F.F.		File:Anasui says ok Anime.png	Spikes on the ends of her cap/hair jut out more compared to Atroe's, which are kept closer to her neck.

Miraschon	12	12 File:MiraschonFirst.png	Anime makes her face bangs appear more akin to dreads.

Lang Rangler			His shoulders are no longer exposed.

Gloria Costello			Silver locket necklace containing a picture of her, Ermes, and their father has been added.

Narciso Anasui			Anasui can now be seen in casual clothing as an adult in his flashback.

Diver Down		12 File:Diveradownfirstanime.png	In its inital appearance, the larger middle dots on its head are circular while later appearances depict them as slots instead. For the anime, the two designs were interpreted as it changing expressions.

Perla Pucci			Her hair is no longer two-toned.

AnimeTV Drama

Naoko Osato			Polka dot pattern is no longer present.

Yoma Hashimoto			Yoma has been made more muscular as a request from Araki.

Mai Katahira			TBA

Mao Katahira			TBA

Walken			His headphones that suppresses his psychic power were changed to a bandana.
