Stone Free, Part 1 (ストーン・フリー その①, Sutōn Furī Sono 1), originally Cornered... (追いつめられて…, Oitsumerare te...) in the WSJ release, is the eighth chapter of Stone Ocean and the six hundred second chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.

Summary

Jolyne's body begins returning to its original size, making her unable to fit through the bars. Goo Goo Dolls begins chasing her, intent on killing her for leaving the mouse corpse. Goo Goo Dolls lashes at her, but Jolyne entangles the Stand in string.

Goo Goo Dolls tears out of the string, wounding Jolyne's hand. She manages to squeeze out of the bars, but the Stand easily follows. Jolyne begins to understand the nature of Stands, and how they are the manifestation of the user's will. She jumps to another bar hanging from the wall, continuing to grow, entrapping her between the bar and the wall.

Goo Goo Dolls leaps onto Jolyne. It goes in for the kill, but is knocked back into the wall. When it tries to attack again, it is once again knocked back. Jolyne opens her eyes to see the body of her Stand protecting her.

• In the original tankoban release, the title of this chapter wasn't numbered. The only other instance of this is Chapter 544.
