Birth of the "Green" (2), originally The Sun's Direction in the WSJ release, is the six hundred seventy-first chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. It is also the seventy-seventh chapter of Stone Ocean.
Summary
Jolyne, Annasui, and Foo Fighters stare in awe at the inmates lying around them, who are all mutating into some form of plant. As Jolyne walks towards the strange vegetation, Annasui notices that flowers are growing out of her face. He goes to examine her, but the flowers have vanished. Annasui deduces that the bone is what is causing these malformations, not an enemy Stand. While he shows his concern for Jolyne's safety, she notices the bone lying on a nearby root. She heads for it, but the bone starts rolling away. Jolyne's arm begins to sprout flowers all over. Annasui quickly inserts Diver Down into her, pushing the plants out of her system. However, he cannot remove the curse completely, as the plant has become one with her. Jolyne warns him not to touch her, but he disregards the advice and licks a flower on her face. He understands that these are just plants, not having any human biology. He pulls Jolyne into the shade. There, the bone's effects are lessened. Jolyne tries to locate where the bone went, but all she finds is what looks like a green baby with a star-shaped birthmark.
