Serving as the center of transportation in Morioh, the station is the setting of Diamond is Unbreakable's first moments. It also serves as the primary setting of the one-shot A Rainy Monday.
Description
Located in northeastern Morioh, Morioh Station is the central transportation hub of the city, estimated to serve about 5,000 commuters daily. The station is three stories tall, and is connected to a shopping arcade to its left. The interior houses many standard features of a train station, including turnstiles, a ticket window, electronic ticket machines, and advertisements. The station's trains run on a street-level railway, with the street to the right of the station having tracks. An pedestrian bridge allows people to safely cross when a train is currently parked at the station.
Directly in front of the station is the station plaza, an urban square featuring benches, a small garden, and a water fountain. Commuters can board buses from this plaza.
History
Jotaro Kujo! Meets Josuke Higashikata
On an April day in 1999, timid first-year student Koichi Hirose is walking to school when he bumps into a tall man. The man, Jotaro Kujo, apologizes and asks for directions, with Koichi directing him to the nearby bus stop. The two observe several upperclassmen bullying another first-year student, demanding his respect and attacking him and a turtle frolicking in a nearby fountain. As the harassment continues, the first-year introduces himself as Josuke Higashikata, to Jotaro's shock. After the leader of the upperclassmen insults his hair, Josuke attacks him with his Stand, and heals the turtle. As the upperclassmen run away, Jotaro introduces himself to Josuke, reciting several key details about him and his life before informing him that he is the bastard son of real estate mogul Joseph Joestar.
Toshikazu Hazamada (Surface)
After attacking Josuke and Koichi in the Bugaoka High School locker rooms, Toshikazu Hazamada has his Stand Surface, which has shapeshifted to look and sound like Josuke, call Jotaro and tell him to meet them at Morioh Station. Thus, a race to the station begins, with Josuke and Koichi chasing after the two. When Hazamada and Surface are about cross the tracks, they hear the signal of an approaching train, and decide to take the overhead crossing to save time. As they run through the crossing, however, they notice that Josuke and Koichi running over the tracks - Koichi had used Echoes to plant the sound of the approaching train signal on the floor. The two meet Jotaro, and are in the middle of telling him about Hazamada and his Stand when Josuke once again finds himself under Surface's control. Just as Josuke is about to kill Jotaro, however, two bikers who were attacked by Hazamada earlier return and knock him out, freeing Josuke from the Stand's control and unintentionally saving Jotaro.
Rock-Paper-Scissors Kid Is Coming!
At the station, Rohan Kishibe is taking pictures of male commuters when he runs into Joseph and Shizuka. After expressing his interest in an English translation of Pink Dark Boy, Joseph asks Rohan why he is taking photographs. Rohan explains that since Kira has stolen someone's identity, he is likely following the routine of that person's life, including taking their commute. While many people come through the station daily, Rohan states that by narrowing his subjects down to solely male office workers within a certain age and height range, the suspect list drops to just 48 men. Just then, a young boy approaches and asks to play rock-paper-scissors with him. His request is ignored, though Rohan notices a suspicious hole in the boy's cheek. As Rohan hails a cab, the boy again asks for a rock-paper-scissors game, bringing Rohan to use Heaven's Door on him. After failing to find evidence of him being a Stand user in his pages, he plays and wins a game of rock-paper-scissors against the boy, who is named Ken Oyanagi, and is driven away shortly after.
My Dad Is Not My Dad
On his train ride back to Morioh, Yoshikage Kira is accused by a young woman and her boyfriend of being a thief after shoving her bag off of him. Furthermore, when the three exit at Morioh Station, Kira accidentally drops his briefcase as the two rush past him. They make fun of his bowling pin-shaped nail clippers before leaving, seemingly pushing Kira to the edge, as he decides to follow the couple to their apartment and kill them after.
