Ultra Jump
Originally, the magazine was a special issue of Weekly Young Jump which first issued in 1995. On October 19, 1999, the special issue became the new monthly publication Ultra Jump. The manga titles serialized in the magazine are also published in tankōbon volumes under the Young Jump Comics Ultra label.
Having transferred to the magazine from Weekly Shonen Jump in 2004, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has become one of Ultra Jump's most featured titles.
History
Ultra Jump started as a special issue of the seinen magazine Weekly Young Jump called "Young Jump: Ultra Special Issue: Ultra Jump" (ヤングジャンプ超増刊ウルトラジャンプ, Yangu Janpu Chō Zōkan Urutora Janpu), which first released in 1995. The magazine was split into a monthly publication in 1999, simply called "Ultra Jump".
On March 19, 2008, Ultra Jump released an online spin-off of the Ultra Jump magazine: "Ultra Jump Egg" (ウルトラジャンプエッグ, Urutora Janpu Eggu), an online manga website that mainly serialized free manga that were not in the original Ultra Jump magazine.[2] It was merged with the official Ultra Jump website on August 19, 2011. The site relied on Adobe Flash Player and its domain expired at some point in January 2022.
For its 20th anniversary, Shueisha launched "Ultra Jump Free!!" (ウルトラジャンプ フリー!!, Urutora Janpu Furī!!) in December 2014. Ultra Jump Free!! is a digital free variant of Ultra Jump which includes selected chapters of popular Ultra Jump series as well as certain digitally colored chapters of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.[3][4]
