After 25 years JoJo's Bizarre Adventure received a faithful adaptation by David Production which continues to this very day. Like in every anime character designs were altered either to make them easier to animate, fix some problem with their original look or other.
Here's a list of design changes in JoJo Anime .
Design Differences
Phantom Blood Battle Tendency Stardust Crusaders Diamond is Unbreakable Golden Wind Stone Ocean Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan
Dio Brando While his eyes are red in anime, it was revealed Araki intented them to be green.[1]
Dario Brando 'In memory of mother' tattoo is missing on his chest.
Dire Altered/Simplified suit.
Smokey Brown Metallic necklace was changed to a bowtie, but only for his appearance in New York.
Erina Joestar Her glasses are no longer dark so her eyes can be seen.
Donovan Anime gave him a cleft chin.
Santana New tattoo on his left eyelid was added.
Holy Kujo In the first episode of the Stardust Crusaders anime, her circular earrings were designed to be inherited from Lisa Lisa .[2]
Holy Kujo Diffirent dress when taken care by SPW .
Justice Stand now has two right hands, much like its user, Enya , and her son .
Oingo His shirt is now stylized after Khnum instead of his name.
Boingo His coat's sleeves are the same color as the torso, and he does not have shorts over his pants.
Vanilla Ice Gloves were removed.
Vanilla Ice (Vampire ) Sharper teeth after turning into a vampire.
DIO Model sheet depicts DIO with a silver choker. It goes unused in anime.
Shigekiyo Yangu Although it's been illustrated as hair by Araki , anime potrays it as part of his head making him bald.
Luca Less detailed coat.
Polpo Large dark irises turned into black scleras and light irises.[3]
Purple Haze Waistcloth's pattern has been changed to single color.
Beach Boy 'BEACH BOY' written on top is omitted.
Risotto Nero Large dark irises turned into black scleras and light irises.[3]
Ghiaccio Leather gloves were changed to part of his suit.
Carne A pattern on headband similar to Bucciarati 's suit has been changed to three tears.
Miraschon Anime makes her face bangs appear more akin to dreads.
Diver Down In its inital appearance, the larger middle dots on its head are circular while later appearances depict them as slots instead. For the anime, the two designs were interpreted as it changing expressions.[4]
