Meet the Gangster Beyond the Wall (1), originally Oral Examination! in the WSJ release, is the four hundred forty-eighth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. It is also the ninth chapter of Vento Aureo.
Summary
Giorno's dream is to be a "Gang-Star". To do this, he must climb the ranks of the local gang and make it to the top. Buccellati agrees to help Giorno, and the two become partners.
Passione, meaning "warmth," controls the city of Naples, with drugs and gambling being its main form of business. The Boss is unknown, giving orders through trusted subordinates. To enter the gang, one must be interviewed by Polpo. Buccellati directs Giorno to the prison where Polpo is located. Giorno enters the prison, and, after getting through security, heads to Polpo's cell. In the cell sits a gigantic, bulbous man that Giorno first mistakes for a bed. Polpo reveals how he has everything he could ever need inside his cell, causing Giorno to understand why he wouldn't want to leave. Polpo decides to start the interview, and then proceeds to bite off his own fingers.
