The player can play through over 100 pre-arranged fights in this game mode.
The fights are divided between Normal Battles, which adapt situations from the original series; Extra Battles, which use scenarios that do not appear in the original work; and Boss Battles, which only unlock once a certain number of other panels are cleared. Both types of battles reward the player with items such as sound effects, taunts, poses, character color tints, special alternate costumes, artwork, and music. The guide character for this mode is Emporio Alnino.
Arcade Mode (アーケードモード, Ākēdo Mōdo)
This mode allows players to take on a set of consecutive battles to obtain gold and high scores. Occasionally, Harvest appears in this mode, boosting the amount of gold earned by the player. The guide character for this mode is the Part 5 version of Jean Pierre Polnareff. Arcade is split into two modes, Challenge Battle (チャレンジバトル, Charenji Batoru) and Endless Battle (エンドレスバトル, Endoresu Batoru).
Challenge Battle (チャレンジバトル, Charenji Batoru)
In Challenge Battle, the player participates in a gauntlet of eight battles against randomized computer opponents. After the final opponent, the player is graded based on their total performance. Additional gold may be awarded if the player reaches the top rank with enough characters.
Endless Battle (エンドレスバトル, Endoresu Batoru)
In Endless Mode, the player takes on an endless series of battles, fighting on until they are defeated. After each victory, some health is restored based on the player's performance.
Versus Mode (バーサスモード, Bāsasu Mōdo)
This mode allows the player to freely battle computer-controlled characters or other players in local multiplayer. The guide character for this mode is Ringo Roadagain. The mode is divided into three sub-modes:
Single Battle (シングルバトル, Shinguru Batoru): The game's normal battle mode. The player can fight against the computer or another human being, or watch two computer-controlled characters battle.
Team Battle Mode (チームバトルモード, Chīmu Batoru Mōdo): Team Battle allows for 3-on-3 matches, with separate battle rule settings set for each match-up. Including Assist characters, up to 12 characters can participate in a single battle. There are two types of team battles:
Knockout: Both teams battle on shared health bars that persist between rounds.
Total Points: Both teams fight three battles, changing characters between rounds.
Tournament Mode (トーナメントモード, Tōnamento Mōdo): Up to eight players can participate in this mode, with computer characters filling any empty positions. Each tournament lasts three rounds, with the overall winner claiming a reward in gold.

The player can purchase and view voice lines, music tracks, concept art, and unlocked poses and costumes using gold earned in the other modes. The guide character for this mode is Emporio Alnino. This mode contains five sub-modes:
Gallery Shop (ギャラリーショップ, Gyararī Shoppu): The player can buy artwork, models, sounds, and cosmetic items here. The guide character for this mode is Wang Chan.
Model Viewer (モデル ビューア, Moderu Byūa): This mode provides a 3D viewer for models you have purchased in the Gallery Shop, collected in All-Star Battle Mode, received through DLC, or obtained by other means. The guide character for this mode is Telence T. D'Arby.
Art Viewer (アートビューア, Āto Byūa): This mode allows you to view the artwork you have bought or collected throughout the game. The guide characters for this mode are Oingo and Boingo.
Sound Test (サウンドテスト, Saundo Tesuto): This mode allows you to use Moody Blues to play any music and voice lines you own. Naturally, the guide character for this mode is Leone Abbacchio.
JoJo Glossary (ジョジョ辞典, JoJo Jiten): This mode allows you to view explanations for various terms from throughout the game and JoJo's story. The mode has explanations for various characters, Stands, locations, items, and phenomena from throughout the JoJo series (as well as Baoh the Visitor). The guide character for this mode is Ghiaccio.

Nukesaku jumps down and attacks the players, returning an unlimited number of times.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the wall's opening, the loser is thrown out. Vampires and Pillar Men are disintegrated by the sun's light, while normal characters merely fall to their deaths.
Wilson Phillips's car drives through the players on DIO's orders. This Stage Gimmick will not occur if DIO is a combatant.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the water tower, in the same direction as the corner lamppost, the loser is sent flying and crashes into it, recreating Noriaki Kakyoin's death scene.
★ Cairo Overpass (カイロ陸橋, Kairo Rikkyō): Cairo(While the Cairo Overpass stage did appear in Eyes of Heaven, it was exclusive to the game's Story Mode, where it appeared in cutscenes and the opening battle.)
Stage Gimmick
After briefly stopping time, DIO throws a barrage of knives at the combatants. This Stage Gimmick will not occur if DIO is a combatant.
Situation Finish
If the loser is hit towards the side of the bridge with a burning car, time stops and a road roller lands on them. This Situation Finish will not occur if DIO is the loser, but DIO can still trigger the Situation Finish as the victor.
Lightning strikes the Pepsi sign and puddles around the stage, damaging and stunning anyone hit. Akira Otoishi takes no damage, but instead has his Power Gauge set to the first level.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the stage's ambulance, the loser finds themselves in Ghost Girl's Alley, confronted by Reimi Sugimoto. Ghostly hands then drag them off into the unknown.
Echoes ACT2 hatches and creates three SFX on the ground. Any combatant that touches them is either set on fire or sent flying across the stage, depending on the SFX. This Stage Gimmick will not occur if Koichi Hirose is a combatant.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the cape's cliff, the loser falls off, bounces off a rock marked with Echoes ACT2's SFX, and plunges into the sea. This Situation Finish will not occur if Koichi is the loser, but Koichi can still trigger the Situation Finish as the victor.
Yoshihiro Kira attacks characters with a knife, traveling along a curving path.
Situation Finish
If hit towards Yoshikage Kira's stack of books, one of the books falls open to reveal Kira's various nail clipping records and a note declaring that he can't be stopped during months where his nails grow more than 30 cm.
Pesci's Beach Boy flies out of the train seeking a target, sending fighters flying into the side of the train if caught. This occurs an unlimited number of times. This Stage Gimmick will not occur if Prosciutto & Pesci are combatants.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the train, Beach Boy hooks the loser by the head or neck from the vehicle. The train departs, and the unfortunate loser is dragged away with it as Pesci and Prosciutto cheer on. This Situation Finish will not occur if Prosciutto & Pesci are combatants.
Chariot Requiem appears and puts both combatants to sleep, granting them increased attack strength once they wake up.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the entrance gates, the loser is sent flying, landing near Chariot Requiem's severed arm and the Arrow. Requiem picks up the Arrow, reattaches its arm, and exits the Colosseum.
Weather Report uses his Stand to make poisonous frogs rain from the sky. Players hit by the frogs will be poisoned and gradually lose health over a short period of time. This occurs an unlimited number of times. This Stage Gimmick will not occur if Weather Report is a combatant.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the courtyard's center pillar, the loser has their DISC stolen by Whitesnake. This Situation Finish will not occur if Enrico Pucci or Enrico Pucci (Final) is a combatant.
C-MOON sends various objects falling to where the players are, despite Emporio Alnino's warning to the combatants. This occurs an unlimited number of times.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the platform's edge facing the spaceship, the loser hits their head on a railing and falls sideways towards the horizon.
Big Bang
This stage is only available as part of Enrico Pucci (Final)'s GHA, "Made in Heaven". After Pucci evolves C-MOON into Made in Heaven, the fight moves to outer space, with the players standing on a road of light representing the rapidly-progressing flow of time. However, this stage only lasts for the duration of the round, and reverts to the previous stage at its conclusion, along with the Stand itself. This stage is also the only stage that lacks a Stage Gimmick or Situation Finish of any kind.
A dinosaur emerges from a bear's corpse and jumps onto the stage, damaging any combatant it lands on. This Stage Gimmick will not occur if Diego Brando is a combatant.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the opening in the walls leading to the mountain cliff, the loser is sent flying off the side, hitting a branch on the way down.
D4C Love Train grants the combatant who touches its column of light a stock of Heart Heat Gauge, only recurring if the light fades before anyone touches it.
Situation Finish
If hit towards the sign warning travelers about bears, the the loser is tossed into it.
If hit towards the Wall Eyes, the loser lands near Yasuho, who screams in surprise. Joshu then smashes their head in with a rock.
Production
Phantom Blood was written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki, serliazing from So and So date to So and So date. Starring Jonathan Joestar as its main character as he grows through a perilous period of his life. Phantom Blood was the beginning of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series and has been adapted into anime, film and a video-game. (Need details about success like sales, awards or something)
The idea behind Phantom Blood is Araki's exploration of good and evil. The dynamic between Dio, and Jonathan, as Araki describes, represents "good and evil, white and black." This dynamic made them both "function as symbols and foils to one another". Jonathan being a pure, diginfied, symbol of justice and Dio as the ambitious, ultimate evil within the story. Araki also explores a reoccuring theme within the series itself, regarding ultimate power and who controls it. Phantom Blood was the first part of Araki's planned idea for a multi-generational story.
Araki's artstyle during this period, was inspired by the popularity of muscular heroes at the time, and Italian sculptures that Araki took a liking to during one of his trips.

Dio vs Jonathan (Flashback)
With his plans set in motion, Dio joins a brawling game against Jonathan and defeats him. With Jonathan on the ground embarrassed, Dio gloats to the other kids and asks them to avoid talking to JoJo.
Dio has crossed the line, Jonathan aims to take revenge for Erina's honor and confronts Dio in their mansion. The boys duke it out, but Jonathan's conviction overpowers Dio. Dio, humiliated and crying, nearly pulls out a knife until their father George Joestar I berrates them for fighting. Dio and Jonathan's conflict is still not over however.
Jonathan is convinced that Dio has been poisoning their father, but can't inform law enforcement yet without evidence. He deices to travel across London to a dangerous area called Ogre Street. He takes a few steps, but is immediately ambushed by goons led by Robert E.O. Speedwagon.
Now transformed into a vampire, Dio's ultimate scheme has paid off and he brawls with his adoptive brother, who, with newly found determination faces up against the inhuman foe.
Taken under Will Zeppeli's wing, Jonathan faces his final task against the zombie, Jack the Ripper who stands against Jonathan and his allies in a dark tunnel.
Jonathan and his allies make their way to a deserted town, and though the air was calm, suddenly, hordes of zombies arise from the grave. They quickly notice an ominous presence standing at the top of a cliff, Dio Brando!
After a swift brawl, Dio decides to resurrect the bodies of two medieval knights, Tarkus and Bruford. Though they've lived heroic lives, they've been resurrected as heinous zombies. Will is temporarily out of the fight, so Jonathan prepares to battle Tarkus in a duel.
After Tarkus's defeat, Jonathan's group decides to run away from Bruford. They descend from a cliff into an abandoned training site inside the ravine. Bruford catches up the group, and traps Jonathan into one of the site's "death match" rooms. The odds are against him, but Will comes upon an epiphany...
Jonathan, accompanied by allies of Will, break into Dio's castle to vanquish his evil. Though Dio surrounds himself by hordes of zombies, Jonathan's greatest strength is his determination.
Happily wed and off to his honey-moon, JoJo is finally able to enjoy life with Erina. On their boat, Jonathan notices a bizarre man walking to the bottom of the haul. He follows him to the haul, but he is shocked by a familar face, Dio!
Straizo, rejuvenated by the power of the stone mask, aims to eliminate all his potential enemies. He confronts Joseph Joestar at a restaraunt, but his foe is more than he could expect.
