The Pillar Man, Santana, Part 7 (「柱の男・サンタナ」 その⑦, 'Hashira no Otoko Santana' Sono 7), originally Stroheim's Resolve (シュトロハイムの覚悟, Shutorohaimu no Kakugo) in the WSJ and tankobon releases, is the sixteenth chapter of Battle Tendency and the sixtieth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.

Summary

As Joseph rips Santana in half, he explains that Santana’s absorption only absorbs individual cells, giving the illusion of fusing with his target. Joseph also says that using the Ripple before actual digestion began saved him. Joseph thanks himself for his win, but Santana’s upper body springs up, revealing that it is still alive. Santana reaches to grab Joseph, but he counters with a knife on a chain, wrapping up Santana with it, thinking that he will simply pull himself back together as Straizo did.

While Santana is incapacitated, Joseph asks Stroheim if Santana is weak to the sun, and Stroheim confirms this. Joseph opens the door leading to the exit and starts pulling Santana towards the door by the chains. However, Speedwagon notices Joseph's breathing is slightly off and Santana capitalizes on this by shoving Joseph away. Nevertheless, Joseph still holds on, determined to destroy Santana. He notices Santana is pulling him back with the Meat Invade technique by breaking up his body and attaching the pieces to Joseph. Joseph continues to fight Santana’s grip, but Stroheim realizes Joseph cannot fight him forever and rushes to open the door for him. Santana tries to stop this by extending some of his entrails to absorb Stroheim, starting with his leg. Stroheim tells Joseph to use an axe on the wall to cut off his leg. Joseph initially refuses, but Stroheim tells him it is the only way to stop Santana. Joseph complies reluctantly and despite the intense pain, Stroheim opens the door.

A shop in my neighborhood was selling new records for 200 yen each! Even in this era of CD's, I was still amazed at how cheap they were!
