JoJo! This is my ultimate Ripple! Receive it!! (ジョジョ!俺の最後の波紋だぜ!受け取ってくれ!!)
—Caesar Zeppeli's last words, Chapter 92: Caesar: A Lonely Youth, Part 5

Caesar's headband is a bandana originally belonging to Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli in Battle Tendency, later passed to Joseph Joestar in a crimson Ripple bubble[1] following Caesar's demise at the hands of the Pillar Man Wamuu[2].

While it is initially a mere accessory, it is later crucial in Joseph's defeat of Wamuu[3] and becomes a recurring item, the image of Joseph Joestar tying Caesar's headband around his head[4][5] being iconic to the character.

History

Caesar's crimson bubble

After being struck by the Divine Sandstorm[6], Caesar grabs Wamuu's poison antidote ring off of him and puts his headband through it. Then, using the last of his Ripple, he creates a crimson bubble that holds the bandana and ring. Joseph receives the bubble[1] and wears the bandana onwards[4] to honor his fallen comrade.

Bandana on fire

In Joseph's defeat of Wamuu[7], after throwing a molotov cocktail at him, Joseph follows up by lighting and throwing Caesar's headband. These items are sucked up by Wamuu, causing the pressurised air inside of him to light, imploding the Pillar Man's body. Because of this, the headband is ultimately destroyed. And so, Caesar is avenged, his sacrifice[6] allowing Joseph to finally triumph over Wamuu.

  • Araki has stated that the reason he still strongly associates the bandana with Caesar is due to his liking of the colors contrasting on it[8]
