X-girl × JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
X-girl × JoJo's Bizarre Adventure ( X-girl × ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 ) is a collaboration between the fashion brand X-girl and the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise.
Summary
About X-girl
In the summer of 1994, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth founded X-girl with her friend Daisy von Furth, who was then working at the streetwear brand XLARGE. The brand concept was created when Mike D of the Beastie Boys, also a business partner at XLARGE, encouraged Gordon to start her own line.
Gordon and Furth set out to design "real clothing", which was a collection reflecting what they personally wanted to wear, using graphic designs. X-girl quickly became known as a pioneering brand in the "Girl's Movement" within the fashion industry, merging elements of art and music. Mike Mills designed the X-girl logo, which features a "face" graphic modeled after Mills's friend Michelle Rock Wood. Mills also designed T-shirts and posters for the brand. X-girl opened its first store in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, in 1994. That same year, they held a guerrilla-style fashion show in SoHo, New York City, produced by Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze. The show featured models like Chloë Sevigny and Michelle Rock Wood.
X-girl remains committed to offering "Real Girl's Clothing," with a foundational style inspired by rock, military, outdoor, sports, and various street culture influences.[1]
