As a serialized manga, the chapters of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and other works are first published in a magazine before being compiled into volumes. This page contains a compiled list of differences between the magazine and volume releases, ranging from dialogue changes to redrawn frames.

Incorrectly spelled Steely Dan's name, so this was corrected by adding the missing hiragana character "り".
Chapter 165 (Page 3)
Replaced the phrase "起こっている" by removing the hiragana character "こ" from it. Both phrases still translate to the word "happening," so this is just a different style of writing that out.

In May 2008, Shueisha halted manga shipments of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure after a complaint had been launched against them from an Egyptian cleric, after noticing a scene in the OVAs that had the villain, Dio Brando, reading a book depicting pages from the Qur'an.[1] Even though the manga did not feature that specific scene, Shueisha had Araki redraw scenes that depicted characters fighting on top of, and destroying, mosques.[1]

SO Chapter 5 (Page 7)
In 2020, Hirohiko Araki altered the inking on one of the female inmates in Stone Ocean chapter 5, and the banana she is eating was redrawn into a sandwich to avoid allusions to racial caricatures and blackface. This change was published in Shueisha's reprinted tankobons of volume 1 in Japan, Ivrea's Spanish release, and VIZ Media's digital chapter in 2022 and volume release in 2023.

In January 2023, Josefumi Kujo's birthmark was removed when the volume was reprinted. Digital versions of the volume were also updated.[2]
