Departure (出発(DEPARTURE(ディパーチャー)), Shuppatsu (Dipāchā)) is the first volume of The JOJOLands and the one-hundred thirty second volume of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. It covers the "The Villa on Hawaii Island" story arc.

Summary

One day, a certain Japanese man entered the Island of Hawaii carrying a $6 million diamond. Jodio Joestar, a young boy living on Oahu Island, along with his companions, visits his vacation home to steal the targeted diamond. What mystery will they encounter there...?!

The JOJOLands is Part 9 of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series. We find our ninth protagonist in a fifteen-year-old boy. I consider fifteen to be the age where a person's feelings toward the future are the most vibrant. As the author, my hope is that the protagonist will mature and develop admirably over time. On another note, within this story you will see the name "November Rain," the root "novem" being Latin for the number 9. At some point, the months of July and August were inserted into the middle of the calendar, causing November to become the eleventh month.
『The JOJOLands』は『ジョジョの奇妙な冒険』の第9部です。第9番目の主人公は15歳の少年です。
15歳は人生の中で最も未来を想う心が強い年齢だと思います。作者として、立派に成長して上って行って欲しいと願います。
因みに「ノーヴェンバー・レイン」という名前が物語中に出てきますが、「NOVEM」とは「9」という数のこと。7月と8月が途中に入ってきたので、暦で11月の場所になったらしいです。

According to the Japanese Oricon sales charts, this volume of The JOJOLands lasted in the top 50 physical manga sales for a month and a half, selling around 243,067 copies as of September 24, 2023. It debuted with an estimated number of 93,918 copies sold within two days, ranking in 1st place overall on the week of August 14, 2023 to August 20, 2023.[2]
