Doobie (ドゥービー Dūbī) was a minor antagonist featured in Part I: Phantom Blood.

Appearance/Personality

Doobie is a large, muscular zombie who makes his first appearance while wearing a sack on his head, in order to conceal his secret weapons and his monstrous face. After he removes it during the battle with Jonathan, his horrible head and the snakes that live in it are revealed. His body also appears to be covered in a unknown liquid, presumably the venom from the snakes.

Having appeared for only a few pages, Doobie's personality doesn't show any particular traits. He is however, a rather violent being, even trying to rape Peggy, having no interest outside killing and serving his evil master.

Synopsis

Phantom Blood

Doobie is one of the many zombies Dio Brando creates in the village of Windknights Lot. Dio tries to persuade Poco's sister, Peggy, saying that her beauty will soon fade away, while she could preserve it forever by joining him, but Peggy reacts by slapping Dio. The vampire summons Doobie to take care of her, saying that, "since you (Peggy) don't enjoy my (Dio's) company, maybe you would prefer Doobie's."

Doobie grabs the little girl and attempts to rape her, but his plan is ruined by an anvil falling on his head, thrown by Jonathan Joestar. The battle between the zombie and the ripple user begins, with Doobie managing to hurt Jojo by biting him.

It is only now that Doobie removes the sack on his head, revealing his face and his weapons: a large number of poisonous and man-eating snakes living inside his skull. Jonathan manages to remove the poison from his blood by exploiting his new Hamon powers, which he inherited after Will Anthonio Zeppeli's death. He eventually charges Doobie's snakes with the ripple, causing them to turn on their master, leading him to his death.

Abilities

Doobie is probably one of Dio's hybrid creations mixing humans and animals. He has several poisonous snakes all over his body capable of eating an entire human. Doobie hides then by covering his face, so he can surprise his enemies by only making his snakes join the battle when their guard is low. This is not effective on ripple users, which can reject dangerous substances from their bodies.
