SPOILER WARNING: Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak spoiler details may follow.
At the dawn of your adulthood, I shall share part of my essence with you… Once I do, you'll become able to stand atop the world alongside me.

Karaiya's Grandfather (仮頼谷の祖父様, Karaiya no Jī-sama) is a tertiary antagonist featured in Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, a spinoff manga of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Appearance

Karaiya's grandfather has long wavy light hair that covers his face. He wears a light colored robe when speaking with Karaiya. His irises are light with cracked markings below his lower eyelids. He also has fangs and sharp nails like other Vampires.

Personality

Karaiya's grandfather thinks that human beings are shallow creatures with evil hearts. He is inspired by Kars, who believed that the people who succeed are those who solely focus on winning rather than things like pride or conviction. Thus, like Kars, he is a megalomaniac who desires to stand at the top of the world. Believing that his grandson is not so different from him, he chooses to pass on what he learned from Kars.[1]

History

Background

At some point, he had a son with an unknown woman. Before World War II, he was deployed to St. Moritz, Switzerland on an intelligence operation. There, he witnessed something that transcended all of creation. It is implied that Kars turned him into a Vampire but it is currently unknown how he escaped. He never told his son the truth about what he learned back then.

Decades later, he speaks with his grandson in Japan and advises him to never open his heart to humans. He feels that Kars's ideology lives on in him and passes on those teachings to Karaiya. When Karaiya becomes an adult, he gives his grandson a part of his Vampire essence so that they could stand at the top of the world together.[1]
