JoJolion - Chapter 101
Endless Calamity, Part 7 (終わりなき厄災 その⑦, Owari Naki Yakusai Sono 7) is the one hundred first chapter of JoJolion and the nine hundred forty-eighth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.
Summary
Tooru is biding his time in the thicket on the side of the Higashikata Estate. Spotting a hornet's nest, he extends his arm towards it and traps two hornet by turning his hand into stone as they sting him and eats them. Observing Josuke Higashikata and Rai Mamezuku (who are still in the secret laboratory at the TG University Hospital), Tooru is surprised to see that one of Soft & Wet's bubbles had passed through Mamezuku's clothing and bored a hole in his chest, the plant appraiser having torn of his suit to reveal the hole. Tooru notes the existence of these invisible bubbles and wonders if it is an ability that Josuke himself was not aware of. Yet, Tooru remains unfazed, reassuring himself that Josuke is still inside the calamity, also noting that Mamezuku has self-destructed.
Meanwhile near the garage of the Higashikata House, Joshu Higashikata tells Yasuho the dire straits the Higashikata Family is in: Jobin is heavily wounded and Joshu assumes the worst, Tsurugi's illness is worsening, and he laments that he couldn't save his father Norisuke either. Out of guilt, Joshu punches himself repeatedly. Yasuho then informs Joshu that are calamities are due to a Stand attack from someone attempting to retrieve the New Locacaca. She tries to tell Joshu to contact Josuke or Mamezuku and seek their help. However, Joshu argues that Josuke is likely under attack as well and that contacting Josuke is not a possibility. Instead, Joshu declares that he'll protect Yasuho himself. Yasuho has misgivings, and loses her patience when Joshu foolishly if her amputated arm is well. However, Joshu reveals to Yasuho that he has two grown new Locacaca fruits in his possession. With these precious items in his possession, Joshu claims that even though his mind was clouded when Norisuke was being attacked, his mind is crystal clear now. Joshu then offers one of the fruits to Yasuho.
Yasuho initially refuses the offer as she believes that the fruits are not ripe yet, but Joshu mentions the bigger fruit, saying that it looks ripe. Joshu mentions how Yoshikage Kira used the fruit to turn into Josuke and survives and hopes that he can save Yasuho and by extension his family with the Locacaca. Suddenly, Joshu and Yasuho hear a rustling noise in the thicket nearby. Joshu dismisses it as the wind, but Yasuho correctly suspects that the ennemy Stand User must be nearby. Hidden among the trees, Tooru weights his options and decides that he can allow Yasuho to eat the fruit as a test. Plus, she is still inside the range of Wonder of U and of no danger to him.
Yasuho decides to make an Equivalent Exchange and explains to Joshu that the process needs two people to exchange injuries. Surprisingly, Joshu immediately accepts as he wants to protects Yasuho and isn't scared anymore. Joshu proceeds to fantasize about how their exchange will create a supremely intimate bond between them and pushes himself onto Yasuho, using the need for physical contact as a pretext. Yasuho is dismayed. Tooru decides to make a small noise. It confirms Yasuho's suspicions and she then pieces together that the user was here all along, watching her. She realizes that Tooru is the enemy. She takes the fruit and eats it, triggering the equivalent exchange. Yasuho and Joshu's legs merge temporarily. Through this contact, Yasuho is able to exchange her wound and her arm regrows. For his part, Joshu is shocked to see his right arm shrink into a stub and panics as he hasn't realized what he would had sacrificed.
Yasuho summons Paisley Park and prepares to fight Tooru.
