T-This is... my body's moving on its own...! There's no doubt about it! This has to be that Parrot's... Stand attack!

This Stand used by Petsounds is featured in Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, a spinoff manga of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. As of the 9th chapter published in the October 2022 issue of Ultra Jump, its name has yet to be revealed.

Appearance

The Stand's reels unfurling

The Stand has the appearance of a mechanical bird, slightly larger than its user. The head is small, with it having tubes protruding out from it, and a large ridge along the top. While its central body is unseen, it appears to have a thin torso with several appendages. These arms have several circular joints which connect to several circular reels. These reels can unfurl into long thin strips, similar to a tape dispenser.

The Stand's legs are also fully mechanical in appearance, with them starting from the center of one of the reels. These legs have other reels attached where a knee joint would be, and they connect to large mechanical talons (similar to that of a large predatory bird).[1]

Abilities

Punch cards flying out of Hol Horse from the Stand's attack

The Stand, while not fully understood, appears to be a powerful long-range Stand that uses the memories of Petsounds against its targets.

Memory Replay

The Stand's primary mode attack is through sound. When a victim hears a noise or voice repeated by the Stand, they are forced to relive the event that the sound originated. Those under the Stand's thrall gain a dimpled texture to their eyes.

This ability appears to use punched cards to replay a sound from the past inside of its victim as well, as seen when Hol Horse relives his confrontation with DIO. When someone relives a past event, they are forced to reenact the event physically, such as when Hol Horse attempted to shoot DIO with Emperor years before.[2] This can even be done to those who have not lived through said past events, such as when Hiraoka is forced to relive the experience of Wilson Phillips, which caused him to crash his car.[3] The Stand's power can also extend to multiple people at a time, as Petsounds was able to force several pastry chefs to reenact the actions of women who sacrificed themselves to DIO.[4]

Petsounds can also cancel the Stand's power, causing the victim's actions to diverge from the past event. When it controls Hol Horse to relive his first meeting with DIO, Petsounds stops mimicking DIO's voice just as Hol Horse takes aim with Emperor and prepares to fire. In the past, the shot never fired, but in the present Hol Horse's finger keeps pulling the trigger.[4]

The only limiting factor to the Stand's ability is how far the sound travels. If someone cannot hear the Stand repeating the sound, then they will not be forced to relive the past event.[5] A victim can also escape the Stand's control by experiencing a stronger emotion such as Josuke breaking free after flying into a rage[5] or having a conflicting and more vivid memory such as Hol Horse remembering how he fled Cairo with Boingo while witnessing Kakyoin's final Emerald Splash.[4]
