Apparence
A première vue, les DISQUES ressemblent à des Disques compacts ordinaires avec le mot "DISC" gravé dessus en lettres majuscules. Un Stand peut être vu à l'intérieur des disques Stands tandis que des souvenirs peuvent être aperçus dans les disques mémoire, bien qu'un examen complet nécessite l'insertion du disque.
Malgré leur apparence, les DISQUES ont une texture caoutchouteuse et sont élastiques,[1] au lieu d'être juste solide, ce que les rend résistant aux dommages physiques. Les DISQUES sont pérennes et peuvent persister même après que le propriétaire originel meurt, et même après la disparition de Whitesnake. Cependant, il on les insère dans une personne et que celle-ci meurt, alors les DISQUES disparaîtront pour de bon.
Au contraire des Stands, les personnes ordinaires peuvent voir les DISQUES.[2]
Fonctionnement
Il existe deux grands types de DISQUE :
- Les Disques Stand (スタンドの
DISC , Sutando no Disuku): Ces disques contiennent le stand d'une personne. Une personne dont le disque Stand lui a été enlevé tombera dans un état proche de la mort. Les disques Stand peuvent être insérés dans des utilisateurs compatibles, permettant même à certains tels qu'Emporio de contourner temporairement la règle d'un seul Stand par personne.[3] Un disque Stand peut rejeter une personne incompatible (ainsi, Star Platinum avait rejeté Jolyne),[4] et donc Pucci recherchera généralement des personnes dont la personnalité s'aligne sur les capacités du Stand pour pouvoir en faire des manieurs de Stand. Par exemple, il a choisi Thunder McQueen qui a une tendance suicidaire en tant qu'hôte de Highway to Hell dont le pouvoir et de partager les blessures qu'on s'inflige avec une autre personne.
- Memory Disc (記憶
DISC , Kioku Disuku): These discs contain the memories of the person in question. Depending on Pucci's wishes, a memory Disc can either store the entirety of someone's memory or individual memories.
These discs are mainly used to store information and abilities for later use and can be consulted or used by putting the disc inside someone's head.
Pucci is able to create other types of discs. By inserting discs with information or impossible situations, Pucci can command people to follow his bidding.[5][6] Some discs containing a person's sense, like sight, can be extracted.[7]
Notable Discs
- Jotaro Kujo's Memory Disc: This disc was critical for Enrico Pucci's plans, as it contained the exhaustive memories of Jotaro Kujo, most notably his memories of DIO's Diary.
- Jotaro Kujo's Stand Disc: After this disc was recovered by Jolyne, Pucci sent Lang Rangler after her. With the aid of Weather Report, Jolyne made it to the courtyard but was chased down by Whitesnake. Weather helped Jolyne escape and give the disc to Savage Garden, a Speedwagon Foundation carrier pigeon, allowing Jotaro to regain his physical strength and conscious.
- Weather Report's Memory Disc: Pucci kept this disc close to him as he extracted the memories of his brother, Wes Bluemarine, to seal off Heavy Weather.
- Weather Report's Stand Disc: When he died, Weather Report used Pucci to extract his own Stand as a last gift to his companions. It proved critical in Pucci's demise when Emporio used it to gain Weather Report's abilities.
- Foo Fighters' Stand Disc: Pucci tossed this disc into the sea, where a colony of plankton assimilated it to become the guardian for Pucci's reserve of Stand Discs. The colony of plankton, dubbed Foo Fighters, would later become a core ally of Jolyne Cujoh.
- Thunder McQueen's Memory Disc: Extracted from the inmate when he was defeated, Jolyne and Ermes examined the memories inside and discovered Whitesnake's hidden stash of Stand Discs.
- Sports Maxx's Memory Disc: Extracted from the inmate when he was killed, Jolyne and the Foo Fighters used it to discover the existence of DIO's Bone.
- Enrico Pucci's Sight Disc: Pucci extracted his own ability to see, in the form of a disc, to become immune to Heavy Weather's sight-based transformation ability. Notably, it is much smaller than any other disc, likely due to containing less information.
Détails
- The Stand Discs appear in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle as part of one of Pucci's skills and his HHA. During those special moves, Whitesnake steals a disc from the opponent, disabling their special and Style-related abilities until Pucci takes damage. The characters who don't have Stands are not able to use their respective abilities, such as Jonathan's Ripple or Johnny's Slow Dancer.
- The DVD for the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle OST is designed after a Disc.
