Chapter 63
Joseph Joestar of Rome (ローマのジョセフ・ジョースター, Rōma no Josefu Jōsutā), originally The Pigeon and the Girl (ハトと女の子, Hato to Onna no Ko) in the WSJ release, is the nineteenth chapter of Battle Tendency and the sixty-third chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.
Summary
After their abrupt introduction, Joseph, Caesar and Speedwagon are seen gathered around a large fountain. Although Speedwagon tries to defuse the situation, Caesar dismisses Joseph, mentioning how inadequate he is, mentioning how ignorant he is of the menace of the Stone Mask and how weak his Ripple is. Angry, Joseph challenges Caesar to a fight, to whom Caesar hypnotizes a passing woman to effortlessly wrestle him and throw him into the foutain.
Caesar follows this by jumping into the air and introducing his secret technique. Oozing soapy water from his gloves and infuing it with the Ripple, he launches a flurry of bubbles toward Joseph. Not only the bubble strike Joseph with such strength they send him flying, they also gather into a large bubble imprisoning the young man. Trapped in his soapy prison, Joseph sees Caesar dismiss him and attempt to break his Ripple hypnosis in a romantic way by kissing the woman. However, Joseph reveals that he's hidden a Ripple-infused pigeon inside the woman's mouth, which flies into Caesar's mouth as he tries to kiss, just as Joseph predicted. The fight ends in a stalemate.
Meanwhile, one of the Pillar Men has just ended his long slumber.
