There are tons of things in this world you can get for a healthy friend or as a present for a celebration... But when something unfortunate happens or when someone is ill, you only ever send them flowers or fruits. Fruits are special.
—Norisuke Higashikata IV, Josuke! Go to the Higashikata Fruit Parlor

The Higashikata Fruit Company (東方フルーツ会社, Higashikata Furūtsu Kaisha), also known commercially as the Higashikata Fruit Parlor (東方フルーツパーラー, Higashikata Furūtsu Pārā), is a Japanese corporation featured in the eighth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, JoJolion.

The company imports, trades and sells luxury and high-end fruits. It has been run by the heads of the Higashikata Family for multiple generations.

Summary

The Higashikata Fruit Company specializes in selling several luxury fruits based on season, such as Ruby Roman grapes and pickled plums. The fruits are incredibly expensive and are sold under extravagant names, such as Versailles and Jirou. The current manager, Norisuke Higashikata IV, seeks to buy and sell only the best fruits available. The company has a record of every fruit in the world.[2]

The seeking and evaluation of the products the company buys is managed by two of Norisuke's employees. First, his eldest son Jobin Higashikata frequently travels overseas to seek the best fruits to import and conclude deals. Secondly, a secret plant appraiser works with Norisuke in order to evaluate the commercial values of his plants.

The Fruit Company's primary business is a fruit shop situated in the commercial district of Morioh. In here, Norisuke retails the fruits he's bought. In order to get rid of unsold fruits and make his customers more loyal, he offers them desserts in the fruit parlor situated above his shop, such as various cakes[3] and a special Higashikata Melon Parfait[2]. Norisuke chose the spot of his shop specifically in order to attract the shoppers of the commercial district.[2]

The Fruit Company also grows its own fruits, with one known field of orchards being situated in the Higashikata Family's property. They possess an underground facility used to research and store fruit trees.

Unbeknownst to Norisuke IV, the Fruit Company is a cover for the Locacaca Organization, who with Jobin's cooperation, introduces Rock Humans and the Locacaca in Japan under the guise of miscellaneous orders.

The company's ads with Mitsuba

The Higashikata Fruit Company was founded by Norisuke Higashikata I after the legendary Steel Ball Run race, using his prize money of 6 million yen to establish his company. Johnny Joestar worked with his father-in-law in the company as he was noted to have contributed to the importation of foreign fruits in Japan.[4] The company led to the increase in wealth of the Higashikata Family. Norisuke Higashikata IV took over the company in 1993. By importing fruits from overseas, the company expanded until it achieved the second highest revenue for a fruit company in the nation.[5]

After Mitsuba married Jobin, she became a model for the Higashikata Fruit Company's ads. She had support from the whole family and her modeling helped with sales as well.[6] In 2010, Jobin employs Yotsuyu Yagiyama to rebuild their former main building built 250 years earlier with a modernist architectural design.[5] Tsurugi Higashikata claims that rather than Norisuke, Jobin Higashikata's business acumen grew the parlor's popularity enough to become the top fruit store in Japan.[7]
