Caesar: A Lonely Youth (シーザー孤独の青春, Shīzā Kodoku no Seishun) is the tenth story arc in Battle Tendency.

Summary

After regaining the Super Aja, Joesph and his group take residence in a luxury resort in Saint Mortiz facing the abandoned hotel that Esidisi's package is destined for: the Pillar Mens' lair. Caesar and Messina believe they should attack immediately while the sun is still up and Wamuu is still away, but Joseph considers it a bad idea as Kars would likely have traps set up. Caesar strongly disagrees and an argument between the two escalates into a fight when Joseph's retort greatly upset Caesar before he runs off to go after Kars. Lisa Lisa sends Messina should stop him before he enters the mansion. Lisa then tells Joseph the story of Ceasar's childhood, of his father whom he hated for abandoning their family before learned he was continuing William Anthonio Zeppeli's work when he died to unknowing save his son. Joseph now understands Caesar's desire for immediate action, deciding to follow after him.

Wamuu in his Wind Suit.

At the entrance of the hotel, Caesar spots footprints leading to an open door before seeing an invisible figure in the doorway who leaps at him before disappearing. As Caesar instinctively fell into a cat stance, despite having no knowledge of Kung Fu, Messina arrived before his arm is ripped off and was dragged into the hotel by the ghostly figure, revealed to be Wamuu. Caesar deduced that Wamuu is using steam emitted from his body and covered by a wind sheet to move in sunlight for a short period of time. Caesar's newly gained strength was recognized by Wamuu as he deemed him worthy to be killed by him.

A dying Caesar taking Wamuu's lip ring.

The two soon begin their fight with Caesar revealing his technique in homage to his grandfather's Ripple Cutter: Bubble Cutter, forcing Wamuu to fall back into the hotel. Caesar follows after him, finding an unconscious Messina before resuming his battle with the wounded Wamuu and nearly defeats him by using his Bubble Cutters as reflective lenses to freeze the Pillar Man in place with sunlight. However, the moment Caesar blot out the sun to land the death blow, Wamuu used that instant to hit the human with a point-blank Divine Sandstorm. While the fight took a lot out both of them, Wamuu is the victor as Caesar is fatally wounded and bleeding out. But Caesar gets back up to weakly attack with Wamuu questioning why he is continuing to fight, more confused when Caesar ripped the Pillar Man's lip ring off.

The Zepelli legacy.

Caesar admits that he is not afraid to die, but he must do something so others may live as his grandfather and father had before him. Caesar then uses the last of his Ripple energy to create a bubble from his blood to hold the lip ring and his bandana, telling Wamuu that Zeppeli Family legacy is the human spirit itself while yelling for Joseph to take his power as his own. Caesar is then crushed by a cross-shaped slab, Wamuu impressed by such noble resolve that he allowed the bubble to remain and walked off while noting Caesar's final act in life will forever be engraved in his memory.

Joesph and Lisa Lisa mourning for Ceasar's death.

Joseph and Lisa Lisa enter the hotel moments later, finding only debris and Messina's unconscious body before seeing Ceasar's bubble. Popping the bubble, Joseph feels the force of Caesar's final Ripple confirmed his worst fears: that Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli is dead. Joseph tries to find Caesar's body, but Lisa Lisa tries to keep up appearances while telling him that they must find the Pillar Men. Joseph, realizing Lisa Lisa is as effected by this tragic loss, agrees while vowing to kill the monsters and avenge Caesar. It was only then that they notice blood flowing from where Caesar was crushed, causing Lisa Lisa to fall on her knees in tears while Joseph repeatedly screams Caesar's name despite being in enemy territory.
