Super Action Statue (超像可動, Chō-zō Kadō), commonly abbreviated as SAS, is a popular line of collectable figures released by Medicos Entertainment. Debuting in 2009, the figures feature a certain degree of articulation, allowing them to be displayed in a wide variety of poses. Each figure is recognizable by the "S.A.S: Super Action Statue" logo on the box. Prices vary depending on availability and release date.
Medicos Entertainment has continued to release the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure line as the story progresses; as of now, the characters featured range from Phantom Blood to JoJolion, with the color schemes used for the figures being specified by Hirohiko Araki.[1][2]
New figures tend to be announced at the semiannual (Feburary and August) Wonderfest in Japan. Many figures receive re-releases, for the most part this is restricted to Firsts, however there are some instances where Seconds have had additional runs. There are Wonderfest exclusive figures that are usually pre-existing sculpts with new color schemes and accessories, these have limited numbers made, with most being sold at the convention, with some being sold in lotteries on Medicos' site. Wonderfest figures are exclusive to their conventions, and therefore never get second runs. An exception however is figures that are first released at Wonderfest, such as the Steel Ball Run line, which later get standard releases without their exclusive accessories.
Despite being the first part, the Phantom Blood figures are some of the more recent figures to be produced. They are larger than figures from other parts, being made during the Stone Ocean line where the scale had been increased.

The Battle Tendency figures were released shortly after the Diamond is Unbreakable figures and during the development of the Vento Aureo line. They are larger than most figures from other parts, though they are still smaller than the Phantom Blood figures.

The Part 3 figures were the first figures produced in the Super Action Statue line. It should be noted that the first releases of the Part 3 figures have been known to exhibit quality control issues, particularly with the joints. If purchasing older releases of the Part 3 figures, maintain caution when posing them. The Joseph figure had a tendency to snap at the thigh joint, with the joint being completely redesigned for later releases to avoid this issue.

The Diamond is Unbreakable figures were released after the Stardust Crusaders figures. Improvements were made for this line, including better joints for all the figures, more proportional heads and a slightly bigger scale proportional to the characters. This part is notable for starting the Wonderfest exclusive figures line. Rohan is currently the character with the most unique sculpts and variations.

The Vento Aureo figures were released after the Diamond is Unbreakable figures. Currently, Vento Aureo has the most figures out of all of the parts. This part is notable for being the first to get brand new characters made years after its original run, with Medicos beginning with this part when they started revisiting older parts to add more characters.

Part 6 Figures
The Stone Ocean figures were released after the Vento Aureo figures. The scale was altered slightly for this line, noticeably being taller than before. Stone Ocean had a considerable drop-off in quantity of figures from Vento Aureo, receiving half the amount of figures as the previous part, therefore a few of the main cast and stands have not received figures.

Part 7 Figures
The Steel Ball Run figures were released after the Stone Ocean figures. These figures started a trend of newly sculpted figures first getting a Wonderfest exclusive version with exclusive accessories, before later having a standard release that is identical, except for the accessories. This is why Wonderfest figures that later have full releases have the exclusive items outside their boxes, whereas Wonderfest releases without later releases have the accessories in the box.

The JoJolion figures were released two years after the JoJolion manga debuted, and were released during Medicos's run of the Vento Aureo figures. JoJolion has the least figures out of any part, and is noticeably only based on the early chapters of JoJolion.

Swarovski Figure Variants
Swarovski figures are variants of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Super Action Statues that are covered in Swarovski crystals. They are generally sold exclusively to conventions, and are very expensive and sought after by collectors due to there not being many in circulation.

SAS BIG Variants
The Super Action Statue BIG range consists of large-scale variants of the Super Action Statues. Currently, there have only been two released; Jotaro and Star Platinum. A prototype of DIO was shown in 2018, but it is unknown if it will see an eventual release. It is possible that the BIG range has been cancelled, perhaps due to unsatisfactory sales.
The clear variants of the Super Action Statue figures are very limited and rare figures that were sold via lottery. There are only currently two clear variants, Killer Queen and The World, which had 25 and 50 manufactured respectively.
