The Bond That Binds Lisa Lisa and JoJo (リサリサとジョジョを結ぶ絆, Risa Risa to JoJo o Musubu Kizuna) is the twelfth story arc in Battle Tendency.

Following Joseph's victory against Wamuu, it narrates Kars' betrayal who ambushes Lisa Lisa from behind and unleashes his army on Joseph, who is saved thanks to the intervention of the nazis and the Speedwagon Foundation.

Summary

Kars prepared to fight.

Wamuu has died and only Kars remains. Although a couple of Vampire jump to attack Lisa Lisa, she and the Pillar Man slay them for daring to interfere in the duel. Stating that he has to avenge and honor Esidisi and Wamuu, Kars presents the ruins of Piz Bernina temple, a towering structure of stone pillars and beams.

Both fighters jump into the temple's scaffolding and face each other, while Kars fights with his sabers, Lisa Lisa chooses her scarf. As the fight begins, Lisa Lisa is disturbed by Kars' apparent lack of killing intent. The Pillar Man disappears in a flash, but when he bursts out of a pillar, the Ripple master effortlessly avoids him, her scarf enabling her to sense all lifeforms around her. She deals a decisive Ripple kick to Kars' face but suddenly, the real Kars stabs her from behind. Gloating, the Pillar Man explains his treachery and mocks the idea of honor, having only his final victory in mind. He takes the Red Stone of Aja from an unconscious Lisa Lisa and sics his Vampires on an enraged Joseph.[1]

Joseph's reinforcements.

Kars' army of vampires advances to kill Joseph. Although he fights hard, Joseph hasn't recovered from his clash with Wamuu and cannot produce the Ripple correctly. On the verge of being overwhelmed, Joseph is saved when Stroheim, Speedwagon, Smokey and a platoon of German soldiers and agents from the Speedwagon Foundation equipped with miniaturized UV lights come and help repel the army of vampires. It allows Joseph to climb the Temple and confront Kars. Joseph angrily castigates Kars for sullying the memory of his comrades, only for Kars to retort that all that counts is moving his pawns and the final victory. Kars then demonstrates his Machiavelism and takes Lisa Lisa hostage. He then sews her feet with rope and throws her down the temple, forcing Joseph to grab the rope. As Kars approaches to kill Joseph, Smokey thinks about how Joseph doesn't know that Lisa Lisa is his mother.[2]
