Chapter 53
'The Pillar Man', originally "The Pillar Man" Resurrection Project in the WSJ release, is the fifty-third chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. It is also the ninth chapter of Battle Tendency.
Summary
Speedwagon, having attempted suicide in detainment, has been put in a straitjacket by the Nazis. Stroheim takes this as confirmation that Speedwagon knows something of value to their cause, and a shutter opens behind him, revealing the man in the pillar. The Nazis have secured it in a large room, and are slowly pumping it with human blood from slaves in order to awaken it.
Elsewhere, Joseph is riding a motorcycle through the Mexican desert, but stops at a nearby town. After accidentally drinking the water laid out for horses, he resorts to beating up a bunch of Mexican thugs and forces them to supply him with food and gasoline.
Back at the Nazi base, Speedwagon has been given a truth serum, and the Nazis learn about the stone masks and the physical enhancement they grant those who wear them.
