"JOJO's Bizarre Adventure" celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2012. 8 JOJOs have travelled bizarre time and place. This never-ending story is always TO BE CONTINUED
—Incipit, JOJOVELLER p.8-9

JOJOVELLER (ジョジョベラー, JoJoberā) is a multimedia collection of books featuring content pertaining to the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise. Released on September 19, 2013 and succeeding JOJO A-GO!GO! as the third installment of Hirohiko Araki's series of art books, it was published to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the JoJo series.

The main artbook features original artwork from Stone Ocean, Steel Ball Run, JoJolion, and Araki's original art exhibitions. Also included are a History book, which outlines the history of the series through a series of interviews, and a Stands book, which lists and details every Stand that has appeared in the series at the time of publication.

Summary

The limited edition version of JOJOVELLER

The package includes three separate books, each with their own art and information. The limited-edition comes in a black Lacquered enamel case and includes two Blu-ray discs. The name of the artbook, JOJOVELLER, is a pun on the British English spelling of the word "traveler"; as such, the overall package is themed as a travel guide, with even the box taking on the appearance of a mail package shipped internationally.

The actual JOJOVELLER artbook features works of art from all eras of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, as well as several of Araki's original illustrations. The book's inside covers each feature maps with streets and locations bearing the romanized names of characters and Stands throughout the series. The book is divided into the following chapters:

Stands Book

A complete Stand guide similar to the one in JOJO A-GO!GO!, updated with Stands from Stone Ocean through early JoJolion. It includes information ranging from the Stands' statistics and users to their abilities and battle performance. Each Stand is also given a brief comment from Hirohiko Araki himself, often discussing the Stand's design. In the book, Stand users are referred to as "Stand Masters."

History Book

A guide to the complete history of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure from Phantom Blood through JoJolion, including Araki's other works and public exhibitions. The bulk of the book is taken up by interviews with Araki's various editors over the years about the role they played in JoJo's creation. Hirohiko Araki is given the opportunity to comment on each editor's perspective before concluding the book with an exclusive 12-page-long interview.

Blu-ray discs included with the limited edition

Two Blu-ray discs are included with the limited edition of the box set:

  • Disc 1: JoJo Exhibition 2012 Documentary, a set of three videos. The first is a trailer for the 25th anniversary of the series, and the other two are videos of Remote Romance's visits to the Hirohiko Araki JoJo Exhibition 2012.
  • Disc 2: THE MAKING OF JOJO! A behind-the-scenes look at Araki's creative process, documenting the design and drawing processes of one of his works of art.[1]

Making-of

The JOJOVELLER artbook was printed with five types of colored ink instead of the usual four, enhancing the quality of the colors printed within.[2]

The artbook is in five colors, which is not common in France. In technical terms, all books are in four colors which, once they are mixed, create all of the colors we know. With JOJOVELLER, they added what we called a Pantone color on each page.
