Flame Mode Esidisi, Part 1 (炎・流法(モード) エシディシ その①, Honō Mōdo Eshidishi Sono 1), originally The Eerie Esidisi (エシディシの不気味, Eshidishi no Bukimi) in the WSJ and tankobon releases, is the thirty-fourth chapter of Battle Tendency and the seventy-eighth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.

Summary

Esidisi's arm lands on a spike, and Joseph taunts him by saying that he already planned his whole trick before the fight. He destroys his severed arm by sending Ripple energy into it with a kick. To Joseph’s surprise and confusion, however, Esidisi starts loudly crying and bawling. Suddenly, as abruptly as Esidisi started crying, he stops and tells Joseph that the only reason he started crying was to calm himself down. He says that he knew Joseph was trying to irritate him and anger him, to Joseph's shock.

After Esidisi explains all of this, he takes an arm from Loggins's corpse and puts it on his wound, saying that it will change to suit his body. As Joseph becomes more and more unsettled by Esidisi's unpredictable actions, Loggins's body suddenly boils. Esidisi explains that he can make his blood boil up to 500 degrees Celsius and, taking Loggins's arm, he puts some of his blood in the wound.

Joseph realizes that Esidisi is trying to intimidate him and attacks with his Clacker Volley, but Esidisi holds out his hand to meet the connecting attack, which splits his hand slightly. Having known Joseph would do this, Esidisi counters Joseph's attack by growing his blood vessels out from under his fingernails, then thrusting them into Joseph's face to boil him alive.
