Driving a steam car

Little is known about Amato, except that he is an Asian man from Ogre Street who at some point joined Robert E. O. Speedwagon's gang. He is first introduced when he, along with Speedwagon and Tattoo, ambush Jonathan Joestar during his journey to find a cure for his father's illness. Noting his race, Jonathan asks if he knows of an eastern shop nearby that sells poisons.[1] After Speedwagon's defeat, Amato is shocked to discover that his injuries are minor, as Jonathan held back in consideration of his family.[2]

After Jonathan's battle with Dio at the Joestar Mansion, he drives Speedwagon to the hospital where Jonathan is staying via steam car, bringing Tattoo and another friend of Speedwagon's along. Amato also holds the cane Speedwagon requires to walk on account of his injuries during the battle; Speedwagon initially disregards the cane before falling face-first onto the ground.[3]
