１９８０年の暮れに、手塚治虫先生に握手していただいた時、「うわっ、漫画家の『手』ってすごく柔らかくてフワフワだぁ。」と思った。また空手の大山倍達先生と握手させてもらった時も「ゲッこんなフワフワの手でビンとか砕くのかぁ」とも思った。そしてつまり「達人」ていうのは、柔らかい手をしていなければならないんだなぁと決めつけた。ぼくはあんまり「柔らかいっスねえ！」って言われた事ないんだけどきっとジャイロの手はフワフワだな。
