The Book: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 4th Another Day is a novel written by Otsuichi, containing exclusive art by Hirohiko Araki. It was released to coincide with the 20th anniversary of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

The story serves as a sequel to Part IV: Diamond is Unbreakable.

About

In 2000, it was announced that Otsuichi would be writing a novel based on Part IV. The novel proved difficult to complete; in Kono Mystery ga Sugoi 2004, Otsuichi claimed to have written over 2000 pages, but had thrown them all out. Intent on writing a novel that lived up to the manga, it took him until 2007 to complete it.

The novel is about a normal day in Morioh, from the point of view of a new character (Takuma Hasumi). His Stand is called The Book, with the appearance of a normal book, possessing the power to record everything he sees or feels. Josuke and the rest of the Part IV heroes appear as antagonists.

Storyline

The story takes place in Morioh, in the year 2000. Three days before the end of winter break. Koichi and Rohan find a blood-stained cat outside a convenience store. They go searching for the cat's owner, and find a woman's strange-looking corpse inside the house. By using Heaven's Door, they find a clue: "a male student with red scratch marks under his arm." Over the span of 3 months, the curtain opens on this incident.

Akari Hirai, who lives an ordinary life in the gap between buildings.

Takuma Hasumi, who carries a strange leather-bound book and Chiho Futaba, who is captivated by him.

Their story began long ago.
