Stand Cry
A Stand Cry is a yell that Stands, and sometimes Stand Users, scream when attacking at rapid speeds. It's considered one of the trademarks of the series, with most, if not all, main Stand users having one. It is usually defined by the user (or in some cases, the stand itself) punching at incredible speeds, while simultaneously shouting. While different between each character, some will have similar, if not identical cries.
Origin
The origination of the Stand Cry comes from one of the biggest inspirations of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Fist of the North Star. In it, the main character Kenshiro tends to punch at incredibly high speeds while shouting "ATATATATATATATATATATATATATAT!". Hirohiko Araki adapted this, and presumably altered it to sound much more primal and angry.
Several of the cries in the series are Japanese onomatopoeia, e.g. "ORA!". However, many derive from actual English, Italian, or Japanese words like "MUDA!". Earlier in the series, certain characters would scream their attacks (i.e. Jonathan,Joseph, Dio) so it's possible that the Stand Cry is an evolution of this concept.

Trivia
- Polnareff, Buccellati, Narancia and Trish Una are the only allies with Stand Cries.
- Sheila E is the first novel-only character with a Stand Cry.
- Narancia's cry is in Italian, along with Buccellati. Narancia's cry translates as "fly away" while Buccellati's means "goodbye".
- Giorno and Jolyne's cry are a reference to their fathers.
