JoJo! This is my ultimate Ripple! Receive it!! (ジョジョ!俺の最後の波紋だぜ!受け取ってくれ!!)
—Caesar Zeppeli's last words, Chapter 92: Caesar: A Lonely Youth, Part 5

Caesar's headband is a bandana originally belonging to Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli in Battle Tendency, later passed to Joseph Joestar in a Ripple bubble after Caesar's demise at the hands of the Pillar Man Wamuu.

While it is merely an accessory, it is later crucial in Joseph's defeat of Wamuu, and becomes a recurring symbolistic item of Joseph Joestar and Battle Tendency, showing up in various future artworks and appearances of the Part 2 protagonist.

Appearance

The headband has a simple tessellated triangle motif, splitting it into two colors.

History

Joseph holds Caesar's bubble

Caesar is not shown to always be wearing the headband, and it's initial appearance is only in Episode 14 while waiting for Mark with Joseph and Speedwagon to visit the newly discovered Pillar Men.

Joseph lights and throws the headband at Wamuu

In Chapter 48 of Battle Tendency, after being struck by Wamuu's Divine Sandstorm, he grabs the Pillar Man's poison antidote ring off of him and puts his headband through it. Then, using the last of his Ripple, he creates a bubble that holds the bandana and ring. Joseph takes the items and wears the bandana onwards to honour his fallen comrade.

The bandana's final canon appearance is in Chapter 59 of Battle Tendency, Joseph's defeat of Wamuu. After throwing a molotov cocktail at the Pillar Man, Joseph follows up by lighting and throwing Caesar's headband. These items are sucked up by Wamuu, causing him to implode. The headband is destroyed, having served its purpose as avenging its original owner. In a way, Caesar defeated Wamuu after all.

  • In the original Weekly Shonen Jump publication of Chapter 113, Joseph mentions that he is listening to Get Back by The Beatles on his Walkman.
