Capcom Games ★ Evil Incarnate DIO
Evil Incarnate DIO (邪悪の化身ディオ, Ja'aku no Keshin DIO) or Shadow DIO in the English localization, appears as a playable character in the Capcom games. He was part of the original roster in JoJo's Venture as a secret unlockable character, and is a Passive Stand user, wielding The World.
Command List and Gameplay
In the game where Active Stands are prevalent, Shadow DIO is a passive Stand user. He can deal a lot of damage with full offensive attacks without an Active Stand via a solid amount of frame-traps and pseudo-disjointed pokes with his silhouette-version of The World, even though he lacks the more defensive and utility-type traits of having an active Stand. His Stand attacks are effective as surprises, and capable of juggling and/or short bread-and-butter combo finishers. Combined with his own attacks, he deals a lot of damage in a short time, more so within The World, when he stops time.

His Story Mode in JoJo's Venture features no storyline, only an assortment of fights. In Heritage for the Future, as the incarnation of evil itself, DIO sets out to annihilate the Joestar Group himself and become the ultimate being.
In Super Story Mode on the PS1 version, after finishing Super Story Mode once, four extra stages are unlocked adapting various characters' encounters with DIO.
DialogueDIO sensed the approach of the descendants of Jonathan Joestar. Just as DIO sets out to exterminate them, he is approached by Enya.
Enya: What are you worried about, Master DIO?
DIO: The tenacity of the Joestar bloodline has concerned me. As they threaten the course of my destiny, they must be eliminated.
Enya: Their tenacity... Is that why you wish to do battle with them alone?
DIO: Of course... I now have the opportunity to test the true power of my Stand. "The World" will prove its dominance!
The tremendous power of "The World" Stand put an end to the Joestar bloodline. As master of that Stand, DIO is cursed with immortality.
Joseph is affected by Alessi's Stand power. However, instead of becoming a child, Joseph assumes the form of a young man in his prime.
DIO: Descendants of Jonathan... Have I finally put an end to this struggle? Is the path of our destiny sealed?
DIO: The conqueror of the world yields to nothing. The final obstacle is fear itself.
DIO: I destroyed the Joestar bloodline... In doing so, I lost the ability to fear! A suitable destiny, indeed! Ha ha ha ha!

Avdol decides to tell Jotaro about his meeting with DIO in Cairo around four months ago, and the battle begins as a flashback. After the fight, Avdol runs without a second thought and manages to narrowly avoid falling under DIO's control.
Secret Factor: I didn't even think about fighting him. (戦おうなどとは考えもしなかった)

Kakyoin remembers his meeting with DIO, who approached him and asked to test his unique ability. After the fight, DIO implanted a flesh bud into Kakyoin's brain, influencing him into pledging his undying loyalty to DIO.
Secret Factor: That's a flesh bud made of DIO's cells. (それはDIOの細胞からなる「肉の芽」)
(星のアザをもつ男 Hoshi no Aza o Motsu Otoko)
Polnareff recounts his meeting with DIO one year ago. DIO offered to relieve Polnareff of the memories that were troubling him, and implanted a flesh bud within him after battling him. Polnareff was then ordered to dispose of the Joestar group.
Secret Factor: The flesh bud influenced him to side with him. (肉の芽で仲間に引き込まれていた)

Meanwhile, Hol Horse meets with DIO in Cairo to report the defeats of his latest minions. DIO dismisses Hol Horse's report and urges him to battle the Joestars directly, inciting Hol Horse to attack him. After the fight, Hol Horse puts his gun to DIO's head, but DIO somehow appears behind him. Praising his tenacity, DIO leaves Hol Horse to contemplate the overwhelming power of his Stand.
