All-Star Battle ★ Iggy
Iggy makes an appearance in All-Star Battle as a playable DLC Character. He was part of the second campaign along with Pannacotta Fugo. He is voiced by Shigeru Chiba. Iggy's alternate costume mirrors his original appearance as a more realistic Boston Terrier before his style change.
As one of the mass majority of playable characters in the game with the "Stand" Style, Iggy can turn The Fool on/off, changing movesets, as well as having access to the Stand Rush ability returning from the Capcom game, being able to attack in conjunction with his Stand. Iggy has 800 HP, the lowest effective health in the game.
Command List
Much of Iggy's arsenal and playstyle are based off or similar to his playstyle in Heritage for the Future.
Expand/Collapse All
Iggy can summon or dismiss The Fool, shifting his available abilities.
An effect exclusive to Iggy as the smallest character in the game: Iggy automatically deflects any attempts to Throw him. However, character-specific command throws will still land. He also sports the fastest movement speed alongside Ikuro Hashizawa.
The Fool sprouts glider wings made of sand, slowly carrying Iggy through the air. The effect of this skill changes depending on if The Fool is active or not. (Comboable)
- Stand OFF: Hang Glider has a slow descent but begins at whatever height in the air Iggy initiates the skill from, offering longer time in the air the higher Iggy is.
- Stand ON: Upon activation, Iggy is forced to a set height above the ground. However, Hang Glider will not descend, allowing him to remain airborne unless he makes contact with a surface or the opponent.
Iggy uses The Fool to instantly block attacks using the Heart Heat Gauge in place of the Guard Gauge by turning it into a hard dome made of sand (similar to how he hid underwater from Pet Shop), lasting as long as the inputted button is held or until the HHG empties. This skill automatically defends against all attack heights, protecting Iggy from high-low mix-up attempts, and no chip damage will be taken as well.
Iggy runs away from the opponent, making him one of the only four characters in the game capable of running in the opposite direction; The others being Joseph Joestar (both versions), Hol Horse, and Shigekiyo Yangu.
Iggy leaps in an upwards arc, aimed at the opponent's head. If he connects, he'll chew on their hair and fart in their face before jumping off, dealing damage and leaving them falling to the ground. This skill functions as a reversal as Iggy gains invulnerability during its activation, and can be used while in mid-air.
Iggy generates a sand clone of Shadow DIO that runs forward to attack with two melee strikes before dispersing. The first hit is a middle attack that cannot be blocked crouching, and the second hit will knock the opponent into the air. The clone can be destroyed if it is hit by the opponent. (Flash Cancel comboable)
The Fool rushes a considerable distance forward in a shoulder charge, knocking the opponent into the air if it lands. (Flash Cancel comboable)
The Fool delivers an upward strike with its two front limbs. This skill knocks the opponent down on hit, and is capable of reflecting non-HHA/GHA projectiles.
The Fool cloaks itself around Iggy while mimicking his appearance to appear natural. While in effect, Iggy cannot use skills, special moves, HHA, or GHA, leaving him with only his normal attacks. The effect will be canceled if The Fool is summoned with the Style button, or Iggy is struck by an HHA/GHA.
If the opponent's non-HHA/GHA attack hits Iggy while "Too easy!" is in effect, The Fool bursts into sand, protecting Iggy and sending them flying if in-range. (Flash Cancel comboable)
The Fool holds the opponent down as Iggy jumps off of the Stand to kick them away with all four of his legs.
Snarling, Iggy creates a wave of sand on the ground that rapidly travels forward as he can be seen inside. If it connects, The Fool manifests and lifts the opponent high into the air before forcefully piledriving them into the ground as Iggy wakes up from a brief nap. This HHA is capable of hitting a downed opponent.
Iggy gnashes his teeth as The Fool generates a massive sand wave in a large area in front of him. If it connects, the opponent is sent into the air as The Fool manifests itself and heavily assaults the opponent. Blasting the airborne opponent with sand spikes followed by a sharp wheel attack, The Fool then spikes them towards the ground. It then rushes downward before Iggy himself bursts out of the Stand, diving towards the opponent from above and biting them on the nose (similar to his victory over Pet Shop).
In his alternate costume, Iggy's GHA changes; Instead of biting the opponent's nose, he will clamp onto their head and fart in their face before kicking off (reenacting his initial encounter with Polnareff).
Gameplay Overview
With an unusual set of abilities, Iggy can take advantage of his tiny stature, innate immunity to the universal Throw, a backwards run, and the ability to glide in mid-air in either direction to make it highly difficult for the opponent to catch him. When combined with a command guard that alleviates his poor defense, a strong reversal that reflects projectiles, an effective combo-breaker, and multiple, fast mid-ranged specials, Iggy can constantly evade his opponent's attacks and repeatedly pressure them. Even when up close, his gliding ability can be used to great effect, offering intimidating offense and even new combo routes when applied.
However, he possesses certain unique traits that work against him. Aside from having the lowest base health of the roster, he takes greater-than-average chip damage especially while in Stand Off, struggling more than other characters when made to guard against incoming attacks. His Guard Gauge will also not regenerate in Stand Off to compensate for his Throw immunity, making him easier to Guardbreak and rendering him even more vulnerable. Iggy requires more effort to deliver substantial combo damage due to his limited offensive capabilities, and inversely, he can be easy to juggle in combos despite his small size. He can predictably struggle against characters that use command throws and unblockable attacks, partially counteracting the potency of his Throw immunity of which his increased vulnerability on defense is built around.
Iggy is a rather unorthodox fighter with many odd qualities, both positive and negative. As one solid hit by his foe can result in devastating damage taken, he aims to slip by the opponent's attacks and repeatedly outmaneuver them with superior mobility, then exploit mistakes accordingly.
