For me, filmmaking combines everything. That’s the reason I’ve made cinema my life’s work. In films, painting and literature, theatre and music come together. But a film is still a film.
It is common knowledge that Hirohiko Araki is an avid music lover. His love for it is seen throughout all of his works in many references and also discussed many times in comments and interviews. It is without a doubt one of the most well known aspects of his works which has been looked over extensively. However, Araki's avid love for movies is not something that is as extensively brought up in comparison. As a lover of movies, it is somewhat disappointing due to the many influences they've also had on his works (he's also literally written twobooks just about movies). Whether it's simply a mention of a title or it influenced the very making of a character, movies and their impact on him have been around since his very beginning.
This is why I'm attempting to make a comprehensive list of really everything (figuratively) with movies and Araki. The list of the movies that I've made is present --> here. This page simply acts as a breakdown of the specific sources of where some of these movies might have popped up in.
Structure
The list itself is a combination of multiple lists and specific titles from various works/sources, including sources not by/with Araki. Another key point is that all the movies have been either directly mentioned/stated or are obvious in its reference.[a]
Listed below are movies that have been referenced by their name either as a name used on something or as source of a title.
Referenced by Name
A tag on 22nd Man's jacket references Scarface with the tag saying "Scarface."[12]
Later 22nd Man pulls out a pack of matches with the brand of "Streets of Fire" that's in reference of Streets of Fire.[13] A fuel can with the same brand also is shown.[14]
Jotaro asks Joseph who was the lead actress of the movie Tarzan, the Ape Man as one of the questions to confirm he hasn't become possessed by DIO.[19]
Koichi references the movie 1492: Conquest of Paradise while trying to figure out a lock combination of "1492". He mentions he knows it was movie by Ridley Scott and that he didn't see it because it seemed too long.[20]
Okuyasu mentions to Josuke that he cried more when he watched The Champ then he did after drinking the water affected by Tonio.[21]
Listed below are movies that had scenes referenced or influenced the creation process of a character.

Araki's Participation
Listed below are times when Araki himself discussed a movie in a review/comment, had a partial role in the promotion for a movie itself, or his own part in the making of one.
In Araki's comment for SBR Volume 9, he mentions that movies he'd recently seen that were great were by Micheal Mann with The Insider and Collateral, as well as the Jason Bourne movies. He also mentions Heat is the best one in reference to him talking about how the characters in these works have a sense of professionalism and act without hesitation.[43]
When asked if he wanted to make a visit to America, Araki answered that if he could eat good food and meet Benicio del Toro, he'd liked to go.[48]
Masanori Shino has stated that Ermes Costello was the most difficult for him to draw and how it took him some time to figure out how to her draw her braided locks, which he compared to the dreadlocks of the Predators.[49]
↑For example: the way Pet Shop licked his blood is an obvious reference to "Enter the Dragon", while Johngalli A.'s sniper being inspired by the thin rifle used in "The Day of the Jackal" is possible but not confirmed as of yet.
↑There is a sizable amount of movies missing from this list due to: Titles being completely covered, only partially shown, the partial text is too non-specific to narrow down, the title is too vauge even if fully shown, multiple movies have the same name and either could be the intended title based on year, or simply the movie is known but it's not even on Letterboxd at the moment.

↑In America, this movie is referred to as "Hoboken Hollow"
