The Three from a Faraway Land (story arc)
The Three from a Faraway Country (遥かな国からの3人, Harukana Kuni kara no 3nin) is the ninth story arc in Phantom Blood.
Summary
Jonathan, Speedwagon and Poco walk toward Windknight's Lot before Dio transforms everyone into a Zombie. After getting rid of the Zombified Adams, Jonathan meets Dire who briefly tests his fighting ability with the "Thunder Cross Split Attack", which Jonathan manages to counter. The party then greets Dire's companion Straizo and Master Tonpetty, all three having been asked by Zeppeli to aid them in their fight. In a local manor Dio uses as a base, Dio is steadily transforming the townsfolks into Zombies. Jojo's party heads to the manor after delivering Poco to his house, who realizes that his sister isn't home. Meanwhile Dio tries to seduce Poco's sister to join him, but she refuses and is left to be raped by the monster Doobie. However Jonathan saves her and kills Doobie. The party then reach Dio's room, and Jonathan confronts his archnemesis. Dire cuts in, wishing to avenge his friend Zeppeli and uses a perfected version of the "Thunder Cross Split Attack" on Dio, who simply freezes Dire's whole body before shattering him. Yet Dire gathers the last of his strength to spit a Ripple-imbued roses into Dio's eye, which greatly angers him.
