Cabbage and Stark
Cabbage (キャベッジ, Kyabejji) and Stark (スターク, Sutāku) are tertiary antagonists featured in the first part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Phantom Blood.
They are bullies who harass Erina Pendleton and Jonathan Joestar. They also admire Dio Brando and become his followers.
Appearance
Cabbage is a tall boy with a muscular build. He has a thin face with a square jaw, thick eyebrows, and short dark curly hair. He initially wears a dark long-sleeve button-up jacket and baggy pants with a belt over his jacket. He also has a flat cap and a neckerchief. When he reappears later, Cabbage wears a long-sleeve shirt with suspenders on top, along with a tie. His hat is replaced with a fedora. In the anime, he only wears this second outfit and he has light-colored hair instead.
Stark is shorter than Cabbage and has a plump build with short dark curly hair. He has a chubby face with a wide nose. His outfit consists of a light short-sleeve button-up shirt tucked into his pants with a belt. He also wears a flat cap. When he reappears later, Stark wears a buttoned vest on top of a light long-sleeve shirt, paired with a bow tie. In the anime, he only wears this second outfit.

Personality
Cabbage and Stark are cruel and aggressive bullies who pick on others, finding pleasure in the distress of their victims. They enjoy seeing Erina cry, laughing and cheering amongst themselves while mocking her. Their motives for harassing Erina and Jonathan are simply because the two are from wealthy families. Cabbage hates rich people, but admits that he has no particular reason as to why.[1] Cabbage and Stark's resentment for the rich leads them to admire Dio Brando, showing that they are inclined to follow a leader who is stronger and more assertive than them.[2]
They lack empathy and display a pack mentality, ganging up on a single individual and using their numerical advantage to bully and overpower their target. They are also perverse, wanting to strip Erina's doll to see what it looks like under the dress.[1] Additionally, they are thrilled to see Dio assault Erina with a forced kiss, wishing they could be like him.[2]
Cabbage states that he hates guys who try to look cool in front of girls. Stark doesn't speak much aside from pointing out that Jonathan is a pushover, but he follows whatever Cabbage does.[1]
History
Phantom Blood (1889)
Cabbage and Stark are a pair of young teenagers who bully Erina Pendleton, with one of them stealing her doll. Cabbage wonders if Erina got it from her father, who he refers to as a quack doctor. When they're about to rip off the clothes from the doll, Jonathan Joestar intervenes, headbutting Cabbage and repeatedly punching his stomach. Cabbage withstands the blows and knocks Jonathan to the ground by slamming his fists on the boy's back. As Cabbage and Stark mock him for getting beaten while trying to help her, they recognize Jonathan as George Joestar's son. Cabbage declares that he hates rich people, and the two of them proceed to beat up Jonathan by kicking him on the ground before walking off.[1]
Cabbage and Stark watch Jonathan and Dio Brando's boxing match alongside a group of other teenagers. Impressed over Dio's victory, Cabbage asks Dio how he managed to do that. Dio claims that it's a new defensive boxing technique and that he'll teach it to all of them.[3]
The two later appear as associates of Dio and witness him forcefully kissing Erina.[4] Cabbage expresses his admiration for Dio's bold move. He also thinks that Erina is crazy, seeing her wash her mouth with muddy water rather than using water from the nearby river. Insulted, Dio pushes them away and slaps Erina, which surprises the pair. They leave together with Dio afterwards.
Some time later, Cabbage, Stark, and two more of their friends greet Jonathan by pelting rocks at him, laughing at his expense and informing him what Dio did to Erina. Angered by this revelation, Jonathan runs back to the manor to confront Dio.[2]
