C-Moon (C(シー)-()MOON(ムーン), Shī Mūn) is a Stand developed by Enrico Pucci, featured in the sixth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Stone Ocean.

C-Moon is the evolved form of Whitesnake and the predecessor of Made in Heaven. It possesses the ability to manipulate gravity by altering the direction of the gravitational pull around it. It can also turn things inside-out by reversing the gravitational pull on anything it attacks.

Appearance

C-Moon is a humanoid Stand with a slightly more threatening appearance reminiscent to Darth Maul from the Star Wars franchise.[1] It is born as a result of the Green Baby fusing with Pucci and his original Stand, Whitesnake. Due to this, its appearance shares similarities with both.

Its face is skeletal, bearing elements of the Green Baby's appearance: Completely red eyes with thick, spiked eyelashes, and vein-like textures and patterns on its face. It has Whitesnake's striped Guanine/Δdenine/Cytosine/Thymine pattern on its hips, chest, and on the top and crown of its head (the delta sign that replaces the "A" may indicate a "missing genome"). Its head, shoulders, arms and legs bear short, arrow-shaped (↑) vestiges, with the top of its head faintly similar to Whitesnake's crown. The back and sides of its head along with a belt incorporating a long, arrow-tipped tail possess a fur-like texture. On a thin waist, it has overt abdominal musculature, and is generally believed to have inherited Whitesnake's figure.

Personality

Due to its nature as an automatic Stand, C-Moon requires direct instructions from Pucci in order to act meaningfully.[2] C-Moon talks briefly and plainly when asserting its instructions.[3] However it doesn't seem to be remarkably intelligent, as it's precision and seemingly competent fighting intuition are attributed to Pucci watching it from a safe distance.[4]

C-Moon vocalizes "USHAAAAAA!" or "SHAAA!" occasionally when it throws a punch.[5][6]

Abilities

C-Moon is an extremely powerful and dangerous Stand. Although it doesn't have great physical power on its own, perhaps even none (having ∅/Null Destructive Power), its power over gravity greatly impedes its enemies and guarantees that any of its strikes can prove fatal. It possesses the agility, speed, and strength to fight toe-to-toe with powerful close-range Stands like Stone Free.[7][8]

C-Moon is remote-controlled, and thus can be manipulated from a certain distance by Pucci. The closer Pucci is, the better his control, but he must expose himself to do so.[9]

Gravity Shift

Pucci causes a shift of gravity, making Jolyne "fall" upward.

C-Moon makes Enrico Pucci the center of a reverse gravitational phenomenon.

Within a radius of 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) around Pucci, the gravity shifts so that people and objects are repelled from him. Thus, any unfixed object will fall away from Pucci as if the Earth was a giant cliff[10] but then return to normal once they fall sufficiently away.[11] Likewise, anyone positioned above Pucci will fall upward towards space.[12] C-Moon itself is unaffected and can freely move around its user.[10] By default, Pucci's gravity always makes him attracted to the surface below his feet, allowing him to stand on any surface.[10] As an extension, he is able to levitate through space freely when in an object due to omni-directional gravitational force.[13]

Surface Inversion

C-Moon can also dramatically modify the gravitational force acting upon an object by touching it with its fists, which is expressed by that object turning inside-out.[7][10] Anything its fists even graze will be affected, down to individual hairs. If C-Moon touches the same object or area twice, the effects are reversed, enabling Jolyne to partially withstand its blows.[7]

Jolyne's hand turns inside-out when C-Moon touches it.

This power grants C-Moon great destructive potential: a blow to the chest is usually fatal as the heart turns inside out, and blood flow is reversed, depriving the brain of oxygen.[12] Although C-Moon mainly uses this ability to deal fatal blows, it can use the turning inside out of objects to try trapping its opponents[7] or violently snap small objects like tiles to project them into enemies.[9] Pucci himself can partially turn himself inside out without harm to evade attacks.[14]

Jolyne Cujoh has developed a unique counter to C-Moon's power. Exploiting her ability to turn herself into strings, Jolyne can transform the parts of her body into Mobius strips; a Mobius strip is a three-dimensional object with only one surface, and is impossible to turn inside out, thus cancelling the harm C-Moon does to her.[15]

Time Acceleration

A woman's fingernails grow quickly after coming into contact with Pucci

C-Moon appears to have an early version of the ability Pucci's future stand Made in Heaven possesses.

As opposed to accelerating time on a universal scale and not affecting living creatures, C-Moon's acceleration is extremely localized and affects any object, living or otherwise, that physically touch or come within extreme proximity to Pucci. Examples of this include rapidly growing a woman's fingernails, accelerating the growth of one half of a baby's body into an adult, and causing broken chicken's eggs to spontaneously grow premature living chicks.

This ability, due to being in the transitory stage between Whitesnake and C-Moon, appears to be out of Pucci's control, activating without warning or conscious activation by Pucci.

C-Moon also appears in the novel 'JORGE JOESTAR', although it belongs to an incarnation of Enrico Pucci from the 37th universe. Later, Kars gets his own enhanced copy of the Stand, known as C-Moon Ultimate Requiem.

Trivia

A frame of C-Moon with the vein texture under its right eye
  • In certain shots of SO Episode 35, C-Moon has a vein-like texture under its right eye, resembling its early appearance. The inconsistency is seemingly an animation error as the model sheet for the Stand does not feature the under-eye texture.
