Heaven's Door
Heaven's Door (ヘブンズ・ドアー Hebunzu Doā) (a.k.a. Heaven's Gate) is the stand of Rohan Kishibe featured in Part IV: Diamond is Unbreakable and other side stories (such as Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe - Mutsukabeza) in which its user is featured in.
Appearance/Personality
Heaven's Door seems to take the same appearance as a character in Rohan's "Pink Dark Boy" comic series; it shares the exact same appearance as the (possibly main) character, shown when Rohan is seen working at his desk, that of a small boy with a hat. Heaven's Door is primarily activated when someone looks at a drawing created by Rohan, who also can draw his stand in the air, then manifested as an outline of the character of the manga created by Rohan. It has no personality.
Abilities
Heaven's Door's abilities are activated when one sees the stand or a drawn image of his stand, and can work on multiple opponents at a time. With his artistic skills and quick hands, Rohan can even create an image in midair with a mere pen, or can invoke his stand's image by drawing it out with his finger.
- Book-Human Transmutation: It enables Rohan to read others' minds by turning their body into a human book detailing their memories since birth. The contents shown by Heaven's Door are the thoughts, ideas, and memories of the individual, so there is no way for the user to lie unless he or she truly does not know. Rohan is also incapable of reading memories that he shares with the person in question. If the person is on the verge of death, the words in that person's pages will gradually disappear.[1] The stand can also be used on animals, as long as it's an animal with intelligence. As their spirits aren't very complex, they become much simpler books than humans do, with sentences in the form of a list of descriptions.
- Memory Tangibility: The "pages" of the book-human can also be ripped out, causing said human to lose those memories and body weight.
- Write-in Command: Rohan can also write in false memories and commands into the victim's pages, the most often used command being "can not attack Kishibe Rohan". Said victim will obey the command as though it were a hypnotic suggestion, as even Okuyasu Nijimura held a lit lighter to himself and threatened to burn himself on command, despite actively resisting and even fearing that manner of death. Otherwise impossible tasks can also be made possible with Heaven's Door, such as commanding Josuke to fly backwards at 70km/h. This was also likely the source for Koichi Hirose's Italian skills, as he had Rohan write in Italian language skills so that he could approach Giorno Giovanna. Also, while Rohan cannot read his own memories, he is still capable of writing in commands himself, such as when he erased all his memories of the events of Rohan at the Louvre by writing it on his forehead, though the memories returned when the command was rubbed off.
- Enhanced Artistic Skill: Heaven's Door also seems to grant the ability to write at superhuman speeds by enabling Rohan to "draw" images by accurately positioning each drop of ink in an exact position to form an image. Perhaps, due to this, Rohan was the only mangaka able to make his deadlines even when Stairway to Heaven (Made in Heaven) was accelerating time.
- Ability to affect the undead and poltergeist: Heaven's Door has shwon the ability to even effect ghost and the undead as shwon when he used his ability on Reimi Sugimoto, she was also not able to see Rohan or Koichi's Stand further showing that Stands can only be seen by other Stand users. In Rohan at Louvre he was able to use his ability on the zombie-like spirits of the dead and check their memories.
Trivia
- Hirohiko Araki mentioned in an interview that if he were to have any Stand ability from his series, it would be Heaven's Door.
