DIO's Diary

Dio's Diary is a key item referenced in in Part VI: Stone Ocean.

Jotaro Kujo finds the diary after the events of Part III; considering it dangerous and destroying it.  However, remembering its contents, he becomes Enrico Pucci's target, who aims to extract Jotaro's Memory Disc.

The diary contains the vague details of a plan as to the way to attain "Heaven".

Though a key component in the plan described, the diary does not mention Dio's Bone.

The contents of the diary, as remembered by Jotaro, follow.

What you need is my Stand "The World".

What you can find beyond the powers of my Stand is where you need to go in order to find Heaven. What you need is a trustworthy friend. He must be someone capable of controlling his own desires. He must be someone who is not interested in political power, fame, wealth, or sexual desire, and who chooses the will of God before the law of humans.

Will I, DIO, be able to meet someone like this one day?

What I also need is the lives of more than 38 humans who have sinned, because those who have sinned harbor a strong power within.

There are 14 phrases that one must keep in mind:

• A ghost Town

  Singularity point (x2)

  Hydrangea

  Rhinoceros beetle (x4)

  Pear tart

  Secret emperor

  Giotto

  Angel

  Via dolorosa

  Spiral staircase

I'll engrave these words onto my Stand so I won't forget them. What it most neccesary is "courage"; I must have the courage to destroy my Stand momentarily.

As it disintegrates, my Stand will absorb the souls of the 38 sinners and will give birth to something utterly new.

Whatever is born will "awaken". It will show interest in the 14 words that my trusted friend will utter... My friend will trust me and I will become his "friend".

Lastly, I need an appropiate location. North latitude, 28 degrees, 24 minutes, West longitude 80 degrees, 36 minutes...

Go there and wait for the New Moon...

That's when Heaven will come.

Corresponding Events in Part VI

The "trustworthy friend" Dio requires is found in Enrico Pucci.

The "38 sinners" are found among the population of Green Dolphin Street Prison.

Dio's Bone is substituted for Dio's Stand, The World. The the Green Baby appears among the roots of a plant-like system, comprised of the transformed and/or dying 38 prisoners.

When born, the "14 phrases" indeed induce an effect on the Green Baby.

"My friend will trust me and I will become his "friend"" seems to refer to the event in which the Green Baby fuses with Pucci.

The time and/or location referred to as "North latitude, 28 degrees, 24 minutes, West longitude 80 degrees, 36 minutes", coinciding with a "New Moon", is found within Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

"Heaven will come" seems to refer to the subsequent emergence of the Stand Made in Heaven.

Trivia

• It is unknown how Dio came to the knowledge as to the recipe for attaining Heaven or how he could use his Stand to create a new life form.
• Oddly enough, if the recipe is correct, Dio's Bone actually retained some of his Stand, The World, in order to create the Green Baby.
• Dio mentions he would engrave the 14 words on his Stand The World so that he wouldn't forget them, where on The World he engraved them is unknown, either he engraved them and had hidden them from view of other Stand users or he was unable to do so before getting killed by Jotaro.
