Summary
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
On July 21, 2012, Capcom announced a collaboration between the game Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS and the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series. First promoted in the September 2012 issue of V Jump magazine, the collaboration started on August 10, 2012 and included two free downloadable quests featuring JoJo. By completing these collaboration quests, players could unlock the "Crazy Diamond" hammer, which healed allies by attacking. Along with a mask based off Harvest called the "Stand Mask" that can be equipped to your Shakalaka to constantly gain money.
Additionally, players could also download a JoJo-themed Guild Card background and pose to show off their love for the series. The collaboration likely came about due to the release of Monster Hunter 3G coinciding with the release of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD and the 2012 exhibition, which was happening around the same time.
When the items were localized outside of Japan, they were re-skinned and renamed. The "Crazy Diamond" hammer was renamed to the "Majestic Hammer" and had its design changed completely. The "Stand Mask" only received a name change to the "Cosmetic Mask".
