I'm often asked by my friends, "If your house was on fire, what would you take?". Let me see... (pauses). Nothing! I wouldn't take a thing. Not my treasures, luxury goods, my Koseki autograph or even regrets. None of them. That's pretty sad. Well, I thought about it and searched for something desperately... There is one thing. What is it? (To be continued in Volume 4.)

The brilliance to run right through the classic path of manga, where the story stands strong on its own, without relying too heavily on the setting, and keeps the protagonist at the center!!

"Into the seething cauldron of a modern industrial society, it was cast without warning. A relic of a forgotten world... the Stone Mask! With a story like this, something has to happen!!

I think one of the defining features of Araki's manga is that the story always makes sense. What's more, the way he charges ahead through his plot of a compelling, protagonist driven manga makes me want to shout, “Brilliant!”

By the way, the moment in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that surprised me the most was when the villain, Dio, jumped out of the carriage in the very first chapter. No other manga artist would spend two whole pages just to show the villain getting out of a carriage!! I love that kind of thing. Please do more of it!!

As a fan of Araki's work, I will continue to have high expectations for the continuation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. (Wow, that sentence sounds a bit formal.)"

Image: There's no doubt about it: The image of Araki's writing style. "Muda! Muda Muda! Mudaaaa!!"
