Don't attack me! You'll just keep missing! (オレに攻撃するナ!命中しねーしサ!)

Dragon's Dream (ドラゴンズ・ドリーム(龍の夢), Doragonzu Dorīmu) is the Stand of Kenzou, featured in the sixth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Stone Ocean.

It appears as a compass with a dragon's head and points to lucky and unlucky locations according to the rules of Feng Shui.

As its name implies, the Stand takes the form of a metallic, Eastern-style dragon surrounded by a floating ring. The dragon hovers in the center of the ring and has two small-clawed arms, and a spade-shaped tail that points out before itself, which doubles as the arrow-point of a compass. The ring itself is covered in eight rounded points that each have three smaller points between them. When using its rebound ability, Dragon's Dream cloaks itself in a transparent bubble.

Personality

Dragon's Dream is a sentient Stand with a personality separate from its user, Kenzou.[1] The Stand acts as a judge during a fight and strives for fairness, going as far as explaining how its powers work to its User's enemy and becoming irritated at its User's desire to keep its ability secret.[2] It always speaks the truth.[3] It also has a habit of providing unrelated and unhelpful divinations, such as one's lucky colors and items.[2]

Abilities

Dragon's Dream is an unusual Stand in that it is functionally neutral during a fight and cannot attack, leaving Kenzou the responsibility of defeating the enemy personally. However, as Kenzou knows how to use feng shui to the fullest, the old man still possesses a tremendous advantage over his foe. Dragon's Dream often allows Kenzou to finish off his opponents in one strike, and only the inhuman resilience of Foo Fighters combined with Anasui's timely intervention could defeat him.

Feng Shui

Feng Shui is based on the belief that flows of energy determine good or bad areas.

To understand Dragon's Dream, one must first understand the principle of feng shui.

"Feng Shui", literally read as "wind and water," is a famous form of divination originating from East Asia. It suggests that by determining natural flows of energy such as the flow of the wind and the flow of the water, one can discern paths to follow. It is usually used to determine good and bad areas in a piece of land, optimizing the well-being of a house's occupants or determining which positions in fortresses need to be reinforced.

"Feng Shui Assassination" (暗殺風水, Ansatsu Fūsui) is a martial art using the same principles to determine which parts of the body to attack and how to position oneself for the strike.[4] According to Dragon's Dream, the only way to defeat a Feng Shui Assassination user is to aim for a draw in bad luck and hope that the assassin succumbs first.[5]

Feng Shui Divination

Dragon's Dream reading and pointing to the target's unlucky areas.

Dragon's Dream itself is split between its body and a ring, with both parts functioning as compasses. Using these, Kenzou is able to read the coordinates (in cardinal directions, degrees and minutes) of lucky positions, where those within are unable to be damaged, and unlucky positions, at which any attack would be fatal.[1][4]

Dragon's Dream's main body materializes as an arrow inside a hovering ethereal sphere pointing toward an unlucky location. If a combatant can reach the sphere surrounding Dragon's Dream, then the body part touching the sphere will disappear before re-materializing to attack their enemy's unlucky spot. If the attack is blocked, events will nonetheless conspire to wound the victim through unlikely coincidences.[4] Inversely, if a combatant is forced to enter Dragon's Dream's sphere, the resulting attack favors the aggressor.[2] Once the attack is complete, the attacking body part returns to the instigating party without injury.

Kenzou summons the Stand's ring in his hands to determine his own lucky positions, and typically moves around using strange movements to avoid leaving those positions.[1] There is no way to counter the perfectly accurate readings of Dragon's Dream. However, one can trick Kenzou into misreading the coordinates of his own lucky positions, rendering him vulnerable to attack.[5]

Neutrality

Because it is based on the natural forces divined by Feng Shui, Dragon's Dream acts neutral during a fight, and cannot be attacked.[1] Though Kenzou can exploit its divinations to attack, its divinations also allow the target to discern where Kenzou is going to strike, allowing them to take measures to protect themselves as best they can. Dragon's Dream strives to give Kenzou and his enemy equal odds in battle, and will often advise the target on how to protect themselves to compensate for Kenzou's advantage.[2]
