Chariot Requiem (チャリオッツ・レクイエム, Chariottsu Rekuiemu) or simply Requiem (レクイエム, Rekuiemu) is a Stand featured in Part V: Vento Aureo and is the evolved form of Silver Chariot.

Appearance/Personality

Chariot Requiem is the Stand that Polnareff develops when Silver Chariot was stabbed with the Arrow. Polnareff died shortly after the arrow pierced the original Silver Chariot, and the Stand survived his death but became uncontrollable (much like Notorious B.I.G., a Stand that activated after the user died and was never eliminated).

Chariot Requiem is solid and can be seen by anyone. Its face is shown to have an arrow-like mark underneath what seems to be a large empty eye. Buccellati even described it as 'black coal', and it seemed to be nearly mindless, only walking forward. This Stand appears to be the only Stand with its own goal: to change the life forms of earth by putting spirits of another world in all living things.

Abilities

  • Sleep Slaving: Chariot Requiem can put all nearby living organisms to sleep when it first activated. As those affected wake up, they discover their spirits have switched bodies. If the body is destroyed, the spirit currently inhabiting the body will also be destroyed; however, the original spirit may return to the body (in the case of Giorno) in the event the body has been healed and restored. As a secondary effect, any Stand User will have their Stands strengthened. Strange creatures are also summoned from within those whose spirits have change bodies, and this will slowly mutate them.
  • Forceful Attack: Anyone who persistently tries to take away the arrow from Requiem will be attacked by their own Stand.
  • Regeneration: Chariot Requiem is shown to be able to reattach detached limbs, as it reattaches its arm after Buccellati managed to detach it by attacking it with Sticky Fingers.
  • Shadow Hearts: A person who has seen Chariot Requiem will see that Chariot Requiem's shadow is at a different location. This localization will never change no matter where the sun is because the shadow is actually a person's darkness from within his or her heart. However, the presence of a shadow necessitates the presence of light, which proves to be its weakness as when someone attacks the light that exists behind them, it will slowly destroy the shadow; thus hurting Chariot Requiem. Upon its death, all the changes it had caused will return to normal.

In Video Games

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future (PS1/DC/Arcade Game)

The Capcom fighting game marks the debut of Requiem on a game. It appears as Polnareff's Super Move Level 3, where Silver Chariot gets shot in the head by an arrow, and briefly transforms into its Requiem version. After the light emitted from the Stand fully engulfs the screen without interruption, the opponent is instantly put to sleep.

GioGio's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Whrilwind (PS2 Game)

Requiem appears as the enemy faced on chapter 20, as the player must beat Requiem before it reaches the coliseum's exit, using Buccellati on Diavolo's body.

Gameplay speaking, Requiem never attacks the player, he only slowly walks to the exit, for defense a copy of Sticky Fingers always appears when the player tries to attack Requiem. Copy Sticky Fingers will only attack if the player reaches near Requiem, it can normaly uses all the attacks from the original playable stand.

Trivia

  • According to JOJOVELLER, its design is based on the myth of a messenger all in black being Death image ordering a Requiem to Mozart. This stand also is of unisex design.
  • Much like the storyline, Requiem dosen't attack the opponents on both games it appears. On Hiretage of the Future, Requiem only puts the enemy to sleep if Polnareff's Level 3 is sucesseded and on PS2 Giogio, Requiem is protected by a copy of Sticky Fingers.
