On the 10th anniversary of Usogui, Sako's body fat percentage also reached 10%. It's a number worth celebrating, indeed. I pray for Usogui's future prosperity.
While trying to make a perfect copy, I realized once again: while Toriyama-sensei‘s art might look like it was drawn onto a flat surface in a very simple manner, the truth is that it has an extremely precise sense of three-dimensionality to it. An amazing technique that can convey both flatness and three-dimensionality at the same time! It really is great artwork, isn’t it? I am extremely honored that I got to draw the cover to volume 33.
I imagined the gods of sports descending on Japan from a sky filled with clouds resembling turbulent waves. The compositional motif was taken from Katsushika Hokusai's print, The Great Wave off the Coast of Kanagawa. Deciding on the color of Mount Fuji was difficult, but I finally settled on a honey color.
I took on the challenge of making a perfect recreation of Napoleon. I kept the tricolor in mind when choosing the colors. Learning about historical figures through manga makes it easy to understand, doesn't it?

The memory of a fighter jet pilot that was summoned by Under World. At some point in the past, the back of his jet was shot by a MiG fighter jet and a chunk of his body was also shot off. He lost control of the jet and didn't eject before the jet crashed in Florida. The remains of the pilot were never fully recovered due to being obliterated upon impact.
The memory of him and his jet was conjured by Donatello Versus to trap Jolyne. She questioned the pilot on how she can get out and he tells her about the ejection seat button and that it wouldn't work anyways.
