Your date of death is the Harvest Moon! But think of it conversely. If you live past midnight tonight, your treatment will go well, and your health is guaranteed to recover, because on any other day, the Mochizuki family is immortal.
The Mochizuki Family (望月家, Mochizuki-ke) is a family both introduced in and acted as the main group of focus within the one-shot, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan - Episode 4: The Harvest Moon, as the current family must deal with a mysterious curse that has been affecting their family lineage for decades.
The Mochizuki family currently consists of five family members and their pet dog, but the complete family goes back sixteen generations, as far back as the Battle of Sekigahara (October 21st, 1600). They reside in Morioh, as Rohan Kishibe states they live near him. Their real family name is unknown since Rohan used "Mochizuki" as a pseudonym before telling the story about them. Every direct descendant of the family shares the exact date of death of September 8th, the date of the Harvest Moon, which ties to a curse that has been dealt with for every generation.

I suppose I'll return to the skies... Though I come back every year. Time will always continue to flow... Generations will come and go... and within this family, someone will eventually get careless, and forget the rule to always go moon viewing during the Harvest Moon.
Every year during the Harvest Moon, they must view the moon altogether until midnight. If they follow this rule, they will live long lives, as shown by Seizo Mochizuki and his wife Sae, both living to 100+ in good health. However, if a family member doesn't follow the rule, they will be killed by unfortunate events. These unfortunate events can be seen with Noboru's brother Mamoru who died by drowning at 17 while trying to help a neighbor's kid from drowning, and his father Sakuzo, who died of an allergic reaction to a giant hornet sting at 46. Unbeknownst to them, the family is stalked by a spirit known as the Moon Rabbit, who is the one that brings misfortune to anyone in the family who doesn't follow the rule. The origin and reason why this curse has befallen this family for past, present, and future generations to come are unknown.
One way to avoid this misfortune is if a family member accepts someone's hand in marriage. This condition is met when Aki is narrowly spared of misfortune by hornets by accepting her boyfriend's proposal, thus causing the spirit to proclaim she is no longer part of the family in mind or body. Instead, the misfortune was redirected to a motorcyclist driving by that caused them to crash and be killed to even the balance.

She is the 26-year-old single mother of Kaoru. Three years before the story, her husband & father to Kaoru had died of injuries after a car accident. In the years afterward, she and Kaoru would move many times. She arrived at Morioh by bus with Kaoru on June 1, 2000. She had no address in mind after they came, so she asked a real estate agent for a cheap apartment they could move into right away and let them stay without asking for details. The agent at first had mistaken her for a minor due to her youthful appearance leading some to mistake her for a high school student and question her to bring a guardian. She gave the agent a sullen look and corrected them of her age and that Kaoru was her nine-year-old son. The agent was initially lost but called somewhere for a place for them. Shortly after, showing them a two-room apartment. She worried the rent would be too high but realized it was fine for her due to people being too creeped out to live there because of the disappearance of the prior residents. A day after settling in, she started looking for work, eventually getting a part-time job at Kameyu Department Store. Forcing her to leave Kaoru alone in the apartment and worry for him, while he is more worried for her because she is very nervous and always thinks there is an "enemy." She is also a fan of Rohan Kishibe's manga Pink Dark Boy.
Little is known about Kaoru's father. Three years before the story, he and Kaoru had gotten into a traffic accident. Thanks to the protection of his son, Kaoru was unharmed, but he was seriously injured. While in the hospital, he was undergoing surgery but passed away during the middle of it. Kaoru remembers little of the incident due to his amnesia but feels his father had said something important to him while in the car and that he made an important promise.
