Shuichi's family made him marry Naoko Osato after her graduation. He seemed to care about her, but she loved Gunpei Kamafusa. Their life together was happy, even though they didn't burn with passion for each other, they were blessed with two kids (actually Gunpei's children, but Shuichi didn't know this).
