Scary Monsters (スケアリー・モンスターズ, Sukearī Monsutāsu) is the stand of Dr. Ferdinand featured in Part VII: Steel Ball Run.

Appearance/Personality

A visible representation of Dr. Ferdinand's stand is never shown. Because of this, it might be possible that Scary Monsters is just an ability-granting stand without a physical form.

Abilities

  • Infection: The only power that Scary Monsters demonstrated was to infect other living beings with a virus which transforms them in dinosaurs and also cause them to fall under the direct orders of Dr. Ferdinand. Each infected person or animal has a different look and capabilities, as well as the ability to infect others with the virus by biting or scratching them. The stand seems to have no limits in terms of range or number of individuals infected. However, should Dr. Ferdinand be severely injured, his powers will disappear and all dinosaurs will revert to their original form. Dr. Ferdinand, however, is unable to use his Stand to infect his body and become a dinosaur himself, probably because of his deep hate towards these creatures. Still, he can exploit his subordinates' power to travel, either by riding them or by getting swallowed and lying in the body of one of the dinosaurs.
  • The perfect bodyguards: Not only are the dinosaur capable of spreading the infection, but they also possess the abilities of a real dinosaur: regardless of their size, they are stronger and faster than any other living animal and their counter capabilities are unmatchable. They cannot see a target if it stands still, but are able to track down the smell of a prey wet by their own urine.

Relation to the Corpse Parts

The corpse parts interfere with Scary Monsters' power, preventing the owner of any part to fully transform into a dinosaur. On the other hand, they may also maintain the transformation of one who is infected, as in the case with Diego Brando's Scary Monster.

Trivia

  • The way Scary Monsters' dinosaurs infect people is similar to how Zombies infect people with the virus as they could also infect by either biting, or scratching.
