I love Kanye West. He's the most influential artist of the millenia! Late Registration... (kisses the air) a true masterpiece! (laughs)
Hirohiko Araki, probably

Since Araki isn't exactly the most active online user, and never had a Q&A section in any serialisation of the JoJo manga, there are lots of Stands and other things from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise that have unknown origins. Where did the term "Stand" even come from? Does Giorno really reference Gang Starr? Guess we'll never know...

This page is exclusively for speculation directly for Araki's creations. Speculation around anime or game content is not applicable. It must be speculated that Araki himself intended the reference.

Feel free to add this page if you find anything, no matter how uninteresting!

Speculations

  • Giorno Giovanna's "I'm going to become a Gang-Star" quote could be a reference to the former Gang Starr hip hop duo. Both are written as "ギャング・スター" in Japanese,[1] but the "・" could just be to distinct the word from "gangster" ("ギャングスター" in Japanese, exact same kana) for the sake of making a reference to the fact that Giorno is of the Joe-star bloodline.
